latest from best car mag JPN on new CTR...
And here the "could-be-interesting" bits I found when reading.
• Previous mules already faster than current (until Leon goes on sale) fastest FF car on the Nurburgring, that is the Megane RS at 8:07. • Ultimate performance goal set at beating the NSX time (7:56) when it's introduced to the market. • Engine has enough power to spin the front tires up to 4th gear (myself wonder how can that be a good thing.... But for sure some folks will like it) • Current stated specs are more than 280PS and 40.8 mkg, but wouldn't be surprised if by the time of production it had got very close to the current world's highest specific output (Mercedes A45 AMG, 180ps/l), which means 360ps for the DOCH VTEC DI TURBO Honda engine. • When compared with Honda's current V6, the overall aim is 10% more performance with 10% better FE. • The mule they tested past year had an "R" button, akin to modern F1 "overtaking" button, which increased turbo pressure unleashing the full power available in the car. • Expected realistic wheel size when it reaches the market is 19". • Despite its high performance credentials, FE remained important, and for that reason it'll be fitted with auto-idle stop tech, and deliver above 15km/L in the JP08 cycle (for reference, previous Gen EuroCTR was rated at 10.8km/l, so they are talking about 50% improvement). • Expected to be built in the UK, and imported to Japan starting summer 2015, with a price between 3.8M and 4.2M JPY (for ref. past EuroCTR was priced at 3M JPY. Other than that they make a brief mention to the rest of the turbo lineup, stating that: • 1.0L should exceed current 1.8L torque while delivering over 20% improvements in FE. Likely to be used in the Japanese Fit. • 1.5L is mainly focused in America, not likely to be sold in JP.
And that's about it, for whatever is worth 😊
um...damn (if true )

lol yeah cause paying $75k cdn for a 1-series M makes so much sense well should it come, you'll pay more...my guess would be mid 30's? at least you'll get a lot of car for the money performance-wise with hopefully a decent interior lulz. it better have a very good trick front diff... the 4th gear wheel spinning seems to be a bit of hype more than anything.
The 1M was never $75k. Only idiots paid above MSRP for one. Car was listed under $55k if I remember right.
If this is seriously the best Honda can do nowadays that's really sad. They should just keep tapping into Toyota's market and keep producing the most mundane appliance cars for old folks.

I think you are recalling US prices. It was 60+ here.
What's funnier is comparing a CTR to a 1M. 1M 2nd hand to this day is selling for more than it originally retailed for. We cannot say the same for any type R variant. 1M was so popular that the global demand pushed BMW's hand at producing more (iirc 2500 world wide?). 1M may be a shit track car out of the box, but for a collector/car guy/not really driving enthusiast, the 1M is in it's own league. Arguably the most collectable BMW within the past 20 years.
I love me some Hondas, but a CTR at 50k is not a very compelling arguement (though it can be argued the same way with the boss mustang being sold at that price too). But to put it differently: At the same price (50k) would one buy a boss mustang or a civic type r? It's hard to argue the sex appeal of v8 rwd + car with 50 years of "heritage" vs a boosted fwd track rat.

Nope, I distinctly recall building one on BMW.ca when it was available.

Not sure what is special about turbo vtec. That might've been special in 1996. But pretty much everything has variable valve timing now--included boosted ones. See Ford's ecoboost - valve timing on both cams + turbo + direct injection + high compression. That would have blown some minds in the 90s XD VW's 2.0T is the same thing. Under rated at 210hp...and it puts out something like 210hp at the wheels when dyno'd XD

Where the fuck is screaming? Son I am disappoint. I saw this today on reddit - you need to turn off adblock to watch the interactive video by honda. http://www.youtube.com/user/HondaVideo/ I really am liking the CTR-T. At this rate, it is becoming more unlikely that we'll get it here in N.A.
You won't buy it doe so what are you yammering about?
