thanks! While the quality of that lens is outstanding...On a crop, I found the 24-70 range to be meh. Though its not L glass, I think I'd rather have a 17-55
I want that lens bad... But I also want the 28-105 F4 as well... But first I will have the 70-200 2.8 IS II.
And I'm sick of hearing 'on a crop body'. It's the same, just not as much - lol.

Regardless of what you're "sick of hearing"... It doesn't make it less truthful. Go use a 24-70 on a 5dII and then pop it on a 7d and tell me you wouldn't rather spend the money elsewhere

Show me something in 2.8 zoom range from 55-70 that's better... Doesn't matter what sensor you have, there is a gap in zoom f2.8 lenses...

My friend, a professional TV cameraman, uses his 24-70 on his 60D and, before that, a 40D. Found it to be an amazingly good "everything lens." He even seemed to think that it was plenty wide on his crop. This, and a good 70-200 are going to fit most of your needs beautifully. If I were going to buy something non-L and EF-S, I'd get something "fun" like a 10-22 type thing to fill that every-once-in-a-while need.
Then, when you DO step up to FF, you're set. First time I put that lens on my camera, I was kind of blown away at how beautiful it is.

There might be, but I'm not worried about that 15mm myself.
Move forward or backward, and use your 17-55 or your 70-200

learning a new beauty retouch workflow, so this one took fucking FOREVER  ; but at full res I guess I'm ok with how it turned out. Couldn't figure out how to do her hair w/o visibly making her head looks flatter.
lighting wise I could've took a risk, but it was a new studio and I didn't know where shit was; so I went safe  Should've had a gridded BD and gone to town; results would probably have been better.
18 layers of psd , but not one layer of destructive manipulation. Skin texture still intact @ full res; so fairly happy

New shot is good Scott, too much contrast going on in the original. I don't think you lost that much 'pop' in the remake at all.. Looks great.

finally got a smaller camera. I haven't took a camera out with me for non work purposes and it was fucking pissing me off.
bought the gf2 new for 290 bucks. Originally was looking for a used x100 and to be honest I still like the feel of that one better; but a used one is still over the 3 times the price of this thing new; and it really isn't quite "3x" the camera. So I settled.
hand held diy BD with a SB80DX in it
