Sad, but true story...
- Couple I know, never married, no kids. Girl buys home in 2000s, boy couldn't afford to support, she said ok. She's been paying everything since.
- Apparently he didn't pay anything 'official', like rent, electricity bill, (always) groceries, etc.
- They break up post-Covid (2022?), was a bit bitter.
- Apparently few months ago, she was served with (legal) papers; he's suing her for 50% of the home
(She had to research it; there's some kind of 2-yr statue of limitations; he served her at 23 mths.)
Apparently he's always been bad with money. He couldn't 'help' with the bills cuz he was in debt (near bankruptcy) at the time, so she gave him 5 yrs to figure that out... I guess he never did figure it out. Bitter, bitter old man .... I'm sad.
Dude was with <big corp> for like ~20 years ... He might've been underpaid, but FFS he was paid decent...
