Yes...if I was going hiking or skiing. I used to have a North Face but it looked a little too casual. CGs isn't as bulky and casual which was a positive.

Once you are "corporate", you'll understand. ;\)

put down the crack pipe.

you want to dress more corporate wear a pea coat. (which can be used nicely for casual too)

With -30 winds and walking outside for 20 mins at least per trip, a peacoat won't do. I'll gladly have my overpriced douchebag jacket if it means it keeps me warm.

when i'm spending Canada Goose money on a coat, i don't want ever jerk off to have one.

I bought a jacket this year, I wasn't looking but I ended up buying a Mackage. It's still a pretty big brand, but it's not as played out as Canada Goose. It may not be good enough for arctic expeditions, but at the same time, I live in Toronto and I drive to a lot of places. It was good bang for buck because I have yet to see someone wearing the same jacket as me, and I've been getting mad compliments on it.

On Sunday at church, a few rows in front of me sat three sisters and they were all wearing a different Canada Goose jacket, and the only thing I could thought of was "poor mom, not only did she have to buy a Canada Goose jacket, she had to buy THREE!!!"

Anyone that wears CG to ski/board is fucking retarded. Yhe jacket is way too warm for one. Second, it is not water proof. This is how a brand becomes dbag wear due to idiots. I would never have bought the CG's at full retail. Got them for 20% off so it was ok for that price.

No doubt it's played out by a bunch if wannabes. Look on rfd in bst and see how many yards are selling the chilliwhack. I guess because it isn't "exclusive" so it isn't cool anymore. Buying something to be exclusive is retarded. Might as well throw away all your apple shit products that everyone and their mom owns too.

gotta love the people who got fakes. They used feathers in the fake coat instead of down that is used in the real version. People with the fakes are complaining that the coats are too damn itchy with the feathers poking through the liner, LMAO, too funny.

The run of the mill chiliquacks you see everyone wearing goes for 495-500. Then they have the limited edition ones for like 800 and up. Pretty absurd for a jacket imo. Id rather put that towards a lens or a camera body...or another set of rims.

And the same could be said about rims and lenses. This is a debate that no one wins. Don't like spendin money on clothes that's fine. Just like how I dont understand why women could spend hundreds on a purse. Not my money, why do I care how others spend it.

I actually bought my wife a down jacket for Christmas. She wanted to wait until Boxing day to find a killer deal on some cheap down jacket from any store (i.e. Fairweather, Smart Set, etc.)...but she's done that a couple of times in years past and never finds anything great. Her current jacket is too long and the damn feathers are always coming out (and stick to my passenger chair). She bought it impulsively though because it was cheap.

So, I went out and bought her a North Face jacket. It appears to be the right length (although, what the hell do I know) and it's pretty light with 700 fill down - which apparently is supposed to be really warm even though it seems kind of lightweight.

I probably picked the wrong style and colour so I'm hanging on to the gift receipt.

Don't get too caught up with down fill power. It's the dynamic contrast ratios of down jackets. Doesn't really mean much.

I bought an Ontario three years ago where at the time in Ottawa you only found them in real outdoors/hunting stores. They have just started becoming prevalent in Ottawa, not to the extent of Toronto but a lot of the main sports/ski places carry their jackets now.

Oh well, I still like mine and I have yet to really see someone else with my same model and color(brown Ontario).

well i don't mind too much since it's a canadian brand, but there are other companies that make warm jackets.

thats basically what I was getting at. a2b is dancing around trying to justify it like its the only warm jacket around. and a peacoat works very well especially if you buy a decent one and not for $3.99 from h&m \:D

I remember seeing the jackets years ago in Ottawa in kick ass stores like lebaron(which is such a sweet store).

Once I see too many people with the same thing as me I stop wearing it so I don't have one lol. I do need a good winter jacket though. I have a burton boarding jacket but that's a little out there for anything other than snowboarding and then just "fashionable" jackets which look nice but aren't too warm.

Yeah but peacoats aren't warm at all even good ones. It's due to the design and material.

I danced around nothing. I walk outside, its cold, I'd like a hood. Peacoats don't have hoods. Get over it and go get one. We know you want one.

edit: I wear it to go to work. Going to Labaron for a warm jacket makes sense if I was going hunting. Going to work, i need something that looks 1/2 decent in.

You'd be way too hot in thermal clothing once you got inside.
