I've got a hockey game with work on Friday at the old Maple Leaf Garden (Which is pretty fucking cool is you ask me). Puck drop is 6pm, Google says either 400/427, or the DVP (Fuck that). I'm thinking maybe Black Creek?

Yeah, I know my timing sucks. Even north bound I need to leave the office at 2pm or else I'll be sitting in traffic. The 400SB shouldn't be too bad (There's always a bit of backup before the 401 split). I'm just trying to figure out where to go from there. There's an Impark at Wood/Church that I'll most likely use. I'm thinking Black Creek (as I've made decent time using this before) but fuck, it's Friday, is there even a good choice? lol

Going downtown at 5pm via 404/dvp isn't that bad (if that's an option for you). I'd say it's a 45 mins in traffic from Richmond Hill to the gardens.
Coming down the 400, crossing the city at the 401 and or whatever road you pick
Black creek isn't bad, but eglinton is a mess unless you go down to the gardiner/lakeshore and take that across?

Pretty sure that's only for Loblaws customers for a max of 90 minutes.

A public pay lot is located at the North West corner of the venue

I was referring the garage under MLG, which as you can see is not on that map, because it's only for Loblaws customers.

Great example of the world we live in.
Guy wants to go to hockey game on a Friday night.
Must flip life upside down, perform life hack acrobatics to make it happen to avoid rotting in a car for 4 hours during rush hour.

I should have asked them to have the game up here at the Molsen Centre
I'm bringing the gf and the kids along, no biggie we'll hit traffic I'll just leave early. We'll grab some eats after the game and stroll around a bit then head home.

Every avenue sounds bad at that time man. If there is no concert or hockey game you may be able to swing 427, Gardiner, Jarvis and drive north
Google maps seems to be the smartest though so use that before you go. It's traffic assumptions are prettty accurate.

Thanks Jeff, I'm starting to realize there really is no great route at that time of day. Although I'd think traffic heading INTO the city should be a bit lighter then everyone trying to get out.

I'm getting the kids out of school early and will hopefully be out of Barrie by 3. Any good eats around that area for after the game?
Thanks for the traffic update Vas

The kids are picky (17, 11 and 3) I just need a decent sit down place we can grab some grub afterwards. Nothing crazy.

Or heck, go to Loblaws. They've got all kinds of hot food counters and lots of seating. Should be able to get something for everyone.
This. That location has lots of great selection for hot food.

Their bakery is good too. I buy the donuts there for my team
If you drive down to just south of queen on church st there is a wild wing which may be good for the kids. Very very close to that you have a restaurant place called Harlem which is a chicken and waffles place - mix of southern comfort food.
