That 50mm looks familiar.

Testing out the 35mm. I decorated my desk (table behind couch) with a bow my Grandmother made for me over Thanksgiving.

quick and dirty in my hotel room.

no, i wasn't here to shoot surfing--which is painfully obvious by my lack of focal length and rather average subject matter. I found these 5 guys bumming around a bunch of 2-3 footers waiting for the 5's and was *so* glad i had my long lens and tc on me. circ. polarizer is, in case y'all didn't know, MONEY.

I have yet to use a filter on any lens. The 77mm B+W CPL on amazon is $160 and it's hard to pull the trigger on that. I've never used one before, so it's an extra hard sell.

Yeah, I can get all of those cheaper on amazon. This is the one I was referring to. It's $178 shipped:

It's one of those things where I can't figure what is good enough. Is the $100 good enough, or do I need the $150 or $180 version? Or a $60 version... Like I said, I've never put anything on my lenses before, so it is new territory.

Nice. Get him to look at you next time. :p

I've been feeding the same family of sparrows since I got my camera. They are the most human- friendly out of any songbird I have seen so far. They come as small as a lighter, or as big as a tennis ball.

This one was between a tennis and golf ball sized. I have one looking at me, but I like that one cuz he was chatting to the bird RIGHT next to him (that you can barely see).

That was handheld in low light, ISO 640, no IS. I'm getting better at holding the camera.

this is what I look like holding a 7D + 70-200. lol imagine what the rebel looked like in my hands!

Is the owl in the wild? I noticed your were at 400mm.

I was thinking the D200 was missing something until I realized LR3 was exporting the pics at 60% quality for some reason. I got a chance to test the sharpness of the new 35mm lens a few minutes ago. It'll do.

Yeah, he's the same owl as the last two owl shots. Wild, but surprisingly tolerant. Went looking for him today only to find a juvenile (but huge) bald eagle. I'm downloading the card now.

Thanks. Not a bad for a lens for under $200 MSRP. Now that I know LR3 is what has been degrading pic quality, and not the sensor, I'm really confident in the D200.

CB had a nice pic right after mine, BTW.
