Hey I was wondering if there was a way to make the dashboard lights light up brighter at night time and to brighten up the gas/engine temp gauge at the same time. Also a little off topic but does anyone here know where i can buy a red stitched CTR Shift boot either than Ebay? I've searched everyone but haven't been able to find one yet. Any help would be appreciated.

My Fuel/Temp gauge is really dim , But I don't want to put led's in my gauges, I like the oem look ! So I guess I will jus have to deal with the low light

Ah i see at least i'm not the only one here who notices that the lights by the fuel/temp gauge are kind of dim. You can barely read the gauge at night time. How would you go about improveing it though?

probably a stupid question but have you checked your dimmer switch to make sure it is turned up all the way. if so, you might have a burnt out bulb because my stock gauges are damn bright at night. HTH.

I did it to my old Gas/Temp gauge and i messed up my gas meter. Don't try it unless, your willing to buy yourself another gas/temp gauge and install it. I've heard tahtif you use a cue-tip and some nail polish remover that that works the best. I used 800grit sandpaper and destroyed my gauge. When i know i can afford to buy another gauge if necessary, then ill try it.

Only prob I had was that the fuel/temp gauge lights werent as bright , I figure thats because more of the light is shining through where the "Si" logo is . But no big deal.

Purduinasi, believe me, i followed those step by step instructions down to the T. There's nothing else I could've done wrong. It had to have been due to the harshness of the sandpaper to the gauge im assuming. Thats why im going to use nail polish remover instead next time around. I think that my dashboard lights might be a bit brighter now in the gas/temp area now for some reason. I dont know why but ill have to check them out again and find out.

yeah I guess thats the way to go cause its more gentle on the gauge which i guess is very senstive with the wires on the back of it and everything.

well the problem that I might be having is that the dashboard light that lights up the front patrt of the gauges from the top of the gauge cluster doesnt seem to shine bright enough on the fuel/temp gauge but shines fine on the speedometer and RPM gauge. It might've acutally brightened up a bit but that is the problem that i was experiencing before.

Well , You probally sanded to much , And now there is more space for light to shine through! The majorty of the light is shining through where the " Si " logo is , thus taking away light from the Fuel/Temp gauges ! best idea would be buy a new gauge , it's $37.00 at honda . Use fingernail polish on it but only do a small portion only where the "SI" is And you should be fine. Everyone Agree ?

make sure all your light bulbs are on in your cluster (actually above the cluster).

I am willing to bet its because one of the bulbs is burnt out because I see all the gauges just fine at night...

Yeah thanks man. I checked them already and I did have to replace that on bulb that shines light on the front part of the gauges. That is the only light that shines on the front part of the gauges though right? You knoow that little black part of the gauge cluster which allowes the light to be shown through to the gauges, im thinking of opening it up a bit to allow more light to be let in. Would that work at all?

I would like to give you some tips that how you make your dashboard light more bright specially at night. I read an article last month and apply some points from there which i want to share with you to make you happy with the implement of these points.

1> Removed the bazel and everything back until you could remove the gauge/light housing.
2> Unplugged the wiring harness from the back of the housing and removed it.
3> Then you took the housing & masked off the light bulb holes & the gauge connector clips.
4> Also masked off the holes in the "reflector" which sits in front of the gauges (black front with light blue back) to avoid paint from blowing through and painting the front (black) side of the reflector.
5> Now used a bumper chrome touch-up paint. It didn't take much.
Running of the paint is not critical since these parts are not visible once reinstalled.
6> First tried it with a cheaper metalic/chrome spraybomb.

Hope this will make your dashboard lights more bright at night.
