March Break postponed till April 12th.
those w/ kids, how do you feel about the announcement? I have no kids so my opinion means fuck all. But haven't kids been on march break since last March? Just cancel it all together in my opinion.
no kids for me either and I agree with what you said.

Back to red zone for Markham. Wife is off on 2nd mat leave with end of Feb due date. Eitherway, won't be going out much for the next month or so.

Got my second covid shot on Saturday, no side effects... just a sore shoulder. I actually had more side effects from the first one (woke up really groggy the next day.)
What did you get? Pfizer or Moderna?
Do you have to carry the vaccination card with you to state that you are vaccinated for covid?

Third wave, new varient. Calling it now. Shouldn't even be talking about opening up until they vaccinate way more people. Opening up before will only be counter effective.

because i live in vaughan/maple, i ain't going nowhere for a while. since we went to the red zone there's been so many ppl from toronto and surrounding areas coming to go to vaughan mills etc, those people need to eat so they go to local restaurants and then bam! you catch the vid.
getting my vaccine tomorrow. w/ that racing sim of yours, I wouldn't want to go anywhere to deal w/ retards.
seriously, I don't even want to go out on a regular day lol.
just got my shot, a regular flu shot hurts 5x more.

So ... What's exactly the dress-code for front-line like you? Still N95 + gloves + a prayer? That's it? Or N95 + face shield + gloves?
The rollout plans are so f'ing confusing ... I'm watching for details of York Region for 80+ yr olds (i.e. my parents) ... ...

For all calls that may/will require Aerosol Generating Medical Procedures to be performed... along with a Level 1 gown and high-cuff gloves (not pictured.) Faceshield over all this only when intubating.
Substitute mask with standard surgical mask and obviously delete face shield for all other calls, irrespective of covid positivity.

At this level wouldn't it be easier to wear a helmet? Can also double up as a weapon to headbutt all the dipshits that call for no good reason.

Any chance for you to score a Darth Vader helmet?

Holy fuck.
My next question would be how much of that equipment is out of pocket...
(Wife got a free odd-ball looking mask ... it looks weird cuz it doesn't cover the chin .. https://o2canada.com/products/o2-curve-1-2 )

Are you sure they didn't give her a jock strap and told her "this is your new mask"? lol
We have no more 3M N95 respirators... and we're using old stock SARS N95s, they're called Pleats Plus. Personally the Pleats pinch my cheeks and it's irritating... especially over the course of a longer call (like a cardiac arrest.) I much prefer the 3M respirators from the comfort standpoint.
We still have a large stockpile of Pleats but lately when we go to a call where we think we should wear respirators, we usually confirm "we gonna Vader up?" and then put the new mask on. It's not optimal for communication because it muffles and resonates your voice, so you really have to speak up and enunciate. Not good for the ESL medics out there.
Oh and the Vader mask is N100, so it has better filtration for the smaller particulate matter.
All the equipment you see in the pic (excluding the scrub cap) is issued by the service. Gowns included. We're given shower caps (shitty ones with holes) to wear on our heads... so most of us bought our own. I have my sushi one, another with coffee beans, wine corks, BBQ meat, and one from a company called #ivegotyourback911, which supports mental health in first responders.
