I though I would give some pointers to anyone willing to do this swap, there is a lot of confusion on what exactly has to be done on the internet.
- You do not have to grind the transmission case, who ever has grinded their case has improperly installed the differential.
- B16 diff bearings have smaller inside collars then the gsr/type r. Therefore if you put them on the gsr\type r differential, you are imporoperly placing your differential in the case.
- Oem type r/gsr bearings are tapered roller bearings, you must convert to the updated ball bearings for gsr\type r through the dealer if you are changing these bearings over from a b16 diff to a type r\gsr
- Also you must change the ring gear to differential bolts, sir/gsr/ and i think type r(never actually seen them) bolts are shorter then then the ones on a jdm integra type r.
Pics below.
Differentials, notice the collar differences
Bearings, Notice the collars
Jdm Final drive on type r differential, notice tthe small bolts, they do not fully come to the top of the ring gear. (this is wrong)
