Super short version: too saturated to display properly, looks like a pool of orange pixels losing details. Google "color spaces" and "color gamut"

i will try to work on that next time. it was my first time ever photographing people and not vehicles (more comfortable with vehicles)

you've got some really weird crosshatching going on in the upper left hand corner.... well, also on the right too. reduce the exposure a little bit in photoshop and it really brings it out.

I think just about everyone starts out like that. Inanimate objects don't ask to see your pictures and can't criticize you about it. Don't worry about it, just shoot more.

It's all going to depend on how you want to capture it...

Me personally, I'd like to see more motion blur in it so I'd say slow it down... You could focus on the stationary vehicle and the moving one is all zipping by blurry like... or focus on the moving one and get the stationary one all blurry... But I could also see it shot with a thinner DoF and focused directly on the moving buggy at like super fast shutter, be damned where ever the ISO climbs too...

I paid a visit to my local camera store today. I sold them my Sony A65, the kit lens and a 30mm F2.8. I then used that credit and the 300 dollar AMEX card from Canon to buy a Sony A77II body. I love it! It works great with my Sigma 18-35mm f1.8

I just need to go to the race track or go birding somewhere so that I can try the tracking focus.

Good kill on using Canon's credit to buy a Sony. Was the 30mm not compatible to the A7? Thought that was a pretty decent lens?

lol I didn't even realize what I'd done till I just saw your post. That is funny, buying my Sony with the Canon credit.

That 30mm f2.8 was a good walking around lens, being kind of smallish, I just don't do much of that though. And it is totally replaced in my lens lineup by the Sigma 18-35 f1.8

I didn't get an A7, I got the SLT-A77 Mark II. It is the top of the line Sony APS-C camera. I did consider the A7 full frame Sony series of cameras, but most of my glass is for an APS-C sensor.

experimenting with cropping to focus on certain aspects of the photo

ie, the water dripping off of the front axle, the race number written on the psc hydro steer, the RCV axle shafts, the complexity of high steer on the 1 ton axle. and the PAC racing spring setup
