Portfolio books potentially. Laugh if you want...? They are nice from what I've seen, and yes I have seen and handled them in person.

yeah, those'll def have to be composites. you'll need to expose and shoot for the car, then open the lens wide open and do the star shot. i like the look/idea though.
I'm gonna do it as a set of background plates for these cars actually:
So yes, it will be a composite haha.

My family has a farm in West Virginia. The train runs to the top of the mountain and overlooks the farm. Two shots, one at 24mm and one at 800mm. Cloudy day so not very remarkable but good demonstration of focal length...

Cropped out the actual pillars from the image. A POTN member suggested I invert the image to make it look like (as mentioned here) a painting of the original scene. I kinda like it...

i think i'm going to go buy my 17-40 back tomorrow. i really miss having a wide angle. I uwa lenses. The only thing that makes me sad about them is that you have to be right THERE where the action is to make them work right, and that's not always possible. And very occasionally, the perspective distortion will ruin a shot - but usually it doesn't.
ok, i lied... just placed an order for the Rokinon 14mm f2.8... i went back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth on the 17-40, 16-35, and 24 1.4. i WILL own the 24 f1.4 someday, but for the price you just can't beat it... $339 on amazon.. can't wait to get back in the wide game again!

I've read that it's a great lens for astrophotography, coma correction is excellent, and just really unmatched as a whole. only missing the auto focus which you're not really missing anyways...i think i'm going to go buy my 17-40 back tomorrow. i really miss having a wide angle. I uwa lenses. The only thing that makes me sad about them is that you have to be right THERE where the action is to make them work right, and that's not always possible.
