I want to go there. My wife is leaving me to go to S. America for a couple weeks in January. I'm now thinking of doing an overnight out there. I'm told winter's the best time to visit...plus I'm out of school at the time.

yeah, winter seems like it'd be beautiful. i don't want to even try any other time, i want to do an rv trip and hit a circle of spots in early december next year with my wife and dogs. Grand Canyon, Zion, Monument, the notches...I forget what all I have mapped out, but sure looks nice.

Winter is hit or miss for sure. No crowds which is nice, but weather can be sketchy. I personally love going to these places in the winter. You do lose out in zion though because all of the trees are brown, but imo, the only way to photograph bryce is with a fresh coat of snow.

Yep. Side note, apparently they're going to start cracking down on people offering their prints for sale if they haven't bought a commercial license from the tribe. I've heard that more and more places are going to be doing this. going to be lame if so.

it's a little flat in tonality. her face is the same tone as the wood, the wall, the blankets. there's no highlights even when looking just at her face. did you use the HDR mode?

add a contrast layer and brush it in, or dodge/burn some highlights on the forehead, cheeks, nose and chin.

my daughter complaining about something before my sons birthday dinner. I haven't shot anything aside from my weekend gig and a party early on in the month, of December so I've literally picked up the camera 3 times last month. Starting to get back into it again.

I love this, but I'd put it through some lens correction or something. NONE of the hard straight lines are parallel or perpendicular to themselves, or the edges of the frame, and it's fucking with my eyes [/.02]
