If there was ever a time to crawl under a rock and get a 'GoPro' angle, that was the time.

Duc, try getting lower or higher angle shots. The compelling point of rock crawling as a sport is the extreme angles, whether that be the travel of just one component of the suspension/axle, or the precise balance of the entire vehicle itself.
Just looking at that scene, if you would have positioned yourself down low next to the rock (by the "PixelSpot" text in your shot) and shot on a slight upward, you could have made the truck look sky high by amplifying the perspective of the bolder. Eye height, full side view, does this image a great disservice.
I can't comment on your editing as I know nothing about fixing distortion in lightroom, so I chose to comment on your composition itself. As others have said in your other posts, get a dslr for shots like this (rebel t3 can be had for around the same price as go pro, probably cheaper used) and really just use the gopro for the kind of shots it was designed for instead (for which rock crawling is a great subject!). Just my $.02

The shop that invited me to put prints up on display hired me to shoot a couple of events. I can dig it. Hosted at East Fork

no, the moon would have ruined any chance at a milky way shot. it was SERIOUSLY bright. those exposures ranged from 10-15 seconds as it was. we had talked about it, the guys that i went with are pros at doing the milky way, but it wasn't to be that night.
black card technique wouldn't solve it?

no idea what that is. if the milky way isn't there, it isn't there.

With long exposures, you can do this with anything that won't reflect. I've done it several times where the scene is exposed right but there is a light source I can't control so i'll cover that part of the frame up with my hand/card for a couple seconds (or multiple times) to get it to expose right.

post one of your excellent black card photos. I tried it a few times...never got anything good...janky way to shoot a photo, IMO. I'd rather use the appropriate ND grad filter.

I dunno if the black card technique would help with that shot, if the moon is out you're pretty much fucked as far as the stars/Milky Way is concerned.

Assuming you have an ND grad filter, or at least one available with you on your shoot. It's a pretty decent way to get a shot if you've got multiple light sources messing with your photo.

Love that shot. Although if they were coated in chocolate it would be 100 times better!

I love everything except the left to right slant. Why'd you leave that in? If you're referring to the horizon not being level, that's the last thing I change before sending the image into print. If you mean the shadow on the floor, I left it just because it gives some directionality to everything, and I thought it looked cooler than a fully filled in floor. Nate
I meant the horizon. I liked the shadow too.
