Filling holes, need advice.

How would I go about filling holes in the trunk, like the spoiler holes. I have a general idea of a cheap way using autobody filler like bondo and sanding it straight, but can you guys give specific steps and tips on how to do it and not to mess up the surrounding paint. Thanks.

Put your dick in it. Jesus Christ. Search or use your brain. It is a hole. It needs to be welded shut. Go to a body shop.

yes you have to be welded it, body shop possibly cost you $350-$400.

Stockton, isn't that way up north? I'll just keep my plastic plugs in there for now, I'm not really worried about it.

I have.
Ace Hardware and Home Depot.
The closest I cam was finding some sort of faucet plugs at Ace but I needed to cut them to size. They were about $1.50 each too.

i took sum ugly ass spoiler that come on my car when i bought it... now i have 4 holes and a few dents and scratches.... local shop said they will charge me around 200 to fix the holes.... 300 to shave the lights and fix the holes... im thinking about just getting a trunk off of ebay and having it painted

Dude, I don't know your source of info, but it isn't very good. First of all, you have 2 choices: Weld the holes shut using a piece of sheetmetal from behind the hole(definitley not a paint can lid), or bonding (gluing) a piece of sheetmetal from behind the holes using 3M panel bond.
Welding is a good method if you know how to weld properly. Warping will occur during welding, not a collision. If you get rearended and hit in the trunk, who cares if the holes warp, you will most likely need a new trunk anyways.
Me personally, as an experienced bodyman, I would panel bond sheetmetal from behind, and fill with filler afterwards. All that should be needed is a light skim coat. Bonding is real strong and won't warp your trunk. It will also seal it in and make it waterproof. I glue roof skins, quarterpanels, doorskins and all types of shit at work all the time.
People think filler or "Bondo" is such a bad thing. It can be if not used right. Dents and such are to be straightened to as close to original as possible and then filled no more than 1/16". Only hacks load mud on a panel.

nope milano99 is 100% correct, i too am an experienced body man and i would and have done the same thing many times...but welding shouldnt warp the deck lid for just some little ass emblem holes, or even spoiler holes at that. hell you could even just fill the holes with 3m panel bond, it feathers out and sands real nice. but no matter what you do, unless you use plugs, youw ill have to paint your lid.

I was just saying that warping would much more happen during welding than a collision. If you know how to weld correctly( weld, stop, weld , stop let it cool in between), it won't happen...Thanks for having my back though...
