<Awaits CSI Titty post of 'I went cheap and all I got was this stupid covid'>
the choice is between that and the myan riveria in mexico but it's like $1900 and i kinda refuse to pay 2k for mexico lol
In other news, I made the trek yesterday to the office in Lib Village ... - Fuck, the traffic man ... - $14 GreenP parking - So many hotties in short shorts walking about - Office was just empty as fuck. Current capacity of the office is like 50 people? Yesterday they topped out at 25 bodies, the most they've ever seen - It was actually nice to get out, though the 'hoteling desk' concept is odd - not alot of amenities, it's BYO everything except monitor. - Shit ton of apps/checks you gotta do - check in app to make sure there's 'space', check in again when you sign in, and answer covid questionnaire ... I failed twice cuz I clicked too fast - Actually MORE productivity in the office (time just slowed...) due to less distractions (other monitors, stocks, kids, facebook, etc.)

The media needs to put more focus on hospitalization numbers rather than infection count if they want to show the sheeple that vaccines are working. People are getting fed up and lamenting vaccines aren't working because case counts are going back up.
Having said that, if the anti-vaxxers choose not to take one because of "freedom" then they should be put on a lower priority list for getting a hospital bed compared to those with real illnesses that are beyond their control (those waiting for chemo, some form of life saving operation, etc.) - because they shouldn't even need to get as sick as they should (and waste hospital space) had they've gotten their shot.
It's like driving with a seat belt and smoking with kids in the back of the car - people bitched about government overstepping their boundaries of what you can / can't do instead their own car ("private domain" as an argument) -- but there's scientific data that doing both of these is bad - so it's just another rule to curb stupidity because people want their freedom more than go with common sense which isn't so common any more.

Wifes ICU went from full at 24 or so a few weeks back to 2-3. Most of the COVID patients she sees now in her ER are not sick enough to admit. Most of her positive cases these days are younger people, but even those are rare. The Uni and local college here in Niagara have mandated that the students need to be vaccinated to live on campus and attend in person.

That's encouraging. Hopefully this means she's not super swamped at work all the time any more.
All the front line health workers have it really tough.

This is a slippery slope. How about other life-style choices? Drinking? Smoking? Drugs? Profession? Diet? Exercise?

This Proof of Vaccination is so fucked ...
- You have to show both receipts for Dose 1 AND Dose 2? - We have to print/show PDF for now, then wait a month for the app with QR Code?
There's some website now that apparently creates a QR Code for you, but I'm not sure if that's compatible with the one coming out in a month, etc....

Have that already.
I need to do it again since I only did that to my Dose 2. i.e. looks like you have to show both Dose 1 and Dose 2.
I've also added the wife's QR code onto my phone, so we can just scan 1 phone etc.
I don't get or know what the process is ... i.e. wtf the QR code does .... and this is only a stop-gap; in a month the official app will be released. So fucking confusing.

Just show your second dose card and done.
Meanwhile did you know that queen's park is the only place in ontario that requires folks to be fully vaccinated OR test negative on the PCR test? Meanwhile everywhere else in ontario for non-essential trips, you have to be fully vaccinated.

PSA for the parents, East York general does a mouth swab covid test for kids, took my daughter yesterday, in and out in 7 minutes without the hysteria of going up her nose like they did at Markham Stouffville. Worth sitting in traffic for it.

Whats really funny to me is people from region to region. I live in Niagara but work in Hamilton. The Hammer is full of anti-vaxxers and restaurants that would rather go out of business then ask for the passport or proof. Niagara everyone does whats asked of them, restaurants are staying open, etc.
In other new, wife is BAO'ing her hospital for now and taking a job in Northern Manitoba for the Feds working on a First Nations community. 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off, all expenses paid, including the 3 days that want her to quarantine before she goes back.

Eh, went to Florida with the whole fam in August. Used CVS / Walgreens loophole for free PCR. Pain the in the ass, but was worth it!
Kids loved it. (2 years of no traveling was enough for us)
