Had all 6 injectors replaced last year (near tail end of CPO warranty) as it kept throwing CEL.
Now I've had 2 power loss warnings in the last 3 days. (restarting the car's fine)
Probably keep this for 1 more year then get a different beater (even though I love the power and bells and whistles in this thing) :p

No man, no $$$ for new car. Dat middle class life, no new milk How reliable has it been? Curious as to how the diesels fare. Diesel will last longer than your typical gas engine if you maintain it properly. I don't need a SUV so once VW fixes their bullshit TDI scandal, I want to jump in to a Golf Wagon TDI.
I build a 328d on BMW.ca, it came out more than a X3 Diesel. WTF BMW?

Winter wheels on now. Planning on Krowning it in the next week or so. I said it before and I will say it again, I love your $80,000 Toyota. Your mods are so tastefully done!

Probably keep this for 1 more year then get a different beater (even though I love the power and bells and whistles in this thing) :p I've had to replace an injector as well, due to water infiltration on the harness (stupid bmw design where cowling cracks and lets water in), then two other injectors were leaking. I've done the glow plugs and modules (only the module was bad), the DEF injector, and a map sensor. Combined with the EGR cooler cracking (replaced twice under warranty due to faulty design), I can't say its without its fair share of issues. All the known BMW issues have been addressed. I think there is only one that I have yet to experience, and that is either the DEF tank level sensor or heater. I have stayed on top of the maintenance, all fluids in the car have been changed recently (tranny, diffs, transfer case).
Good thing is the diesel still has a mechanical water pump, so no random dying of the electric water pump on all other models (like your beater), leaving you stranded. No HPFP to fail (gas model).

Wayne wtf. Does your come with fixed front calipers, or did you upgrade? The fronts dont look like sliders from that pic! X5M Brembos I'm not swapping calipers like you doe, so I just got 20" snows hoooly craps. So you using the X5M front rotors too? 20inch snows lololololol. Dat upper class money. Yeah, definitely noticeable when towing. Not so much anywhere else

I had my EP from 2003 to 2015. Never bothered with rust proof, there was ZERO rust. Not even the usual Honda fender rust. Most EPs I've seen on the road seem to be in decent shape. The car was made in England so maybe they sourced better metal there. Not sure.
The Toyota won't be getting any special treatment. Just weekly washes in the winter (Petro seasons pass shared with neighbours).

Krowning definitely makes a noticible difference when working on the cars with seized bolts and generally in nicer looking condition underneath vs not. It's so cheap why not do it?

Yup. If it was a fancier car that was more of a toy to me vs a daily driver I wouldn't but it's a daily driver. I'm just not going to do it under the hood as that can get messy.

- I thought this was common knowledge already? yeah new cars...pretty much it's off the factory floor, parked outside in a huge lot by the rail ready to go, they sit on the rail cars for the trip, offloaded into another huge lot and sit until ready to ship to a dealer. the car then sits (most likely) outside a the dlr until sold. for acura's the usually sit a bit longer than honda's lol. the dlr just PDI's it, gases it up, washes it and it's delivered to you as such. they don't have time/money/manpower or care to 'detail' a car for you...as long as it's washed it's considered ready to go, they're busy as crap as it is i find. honda/acura paint already isn't the best from factory which doesn't help. regardless, most new cars will look 10x better after a good claybar and polish/wax...esp dark colours.
my car and that rdx weren't as bad as my friend's tlx. it sounded like i was dry sanding the paint while i was claying it lol I find acura's paint pretty good, same with bmw and benz even tho they all come with orange peel.

I washed and waxed my car last month with the over the counter Mcguires Gold Class. I really need to look into getting some better equipment for the Spring time.

Huh, I love chemical guys stuff and eshine is only about 20 minutes from me. The only shitty thing about them is their store hours suck. They always give good 'cash' discounts so I hate having to order when I know it would be cheaper going into the store. But they're never open when I'm not working
