Back up before you get the new phone. Once you get the new phone and sim card you restore your backed up info onto it. Brand new phone that has all your old stuff on it. Even the apps and things you saved onto it should transfer over.

I just sold my 3G fir $200 to some guy on kijiji.

Got an update about the fucked up lines ... People are lining up at 6am or whenever the malls open, and continue to line up until they are told there are no iphone4s coming in. i.e. They are lining up REGARDLESS of whether there are phones on it, banking on the 'shipment' lottery. Even as they are told there are none coming in, they continue to stay in line 'just in case'.

My buddy says... 'We're talking about 100+ people doing this, since day 1'

So I went to fariview at 10:30 am this morning, lined up, was the 32nd person. I left with my Iphone 4 at 3:30 <cue facepalm>. The Apple store employees give you zero information whether they received phones in their shipment, or even if they got a shipment this morning. The most they will tell you is there are no phones available now.

I was going to order on the website, but placing an order on August 1st showed a ship date of August 23 with delivery of August 31st.

To compound a bad situation, 80% of the people were doing HUPs, and those take 20-30 minutes. I was going to pick up an extra phone for someone, but I didn't know if you guys wanted to pay full pop for an unlocked phone.

Why are the wait times and the amounts of people more now then when the phones came out last week? I had the wifes in my hand within 20 minutes of walking into the store. The HUP took a few hours. Getting the phone was the easy part.

Glad as fuck I didnt get an iphone. I got a nexus one and holy crap w/ the android market and the OS, it's hella awesome. Best of all, the phone is unlocked and I didnt have to pay helva lot for it.

I don't have the problem either. Im sure rogers signal is too strong here to affect it really. In the US ATT is really bad.

But it still had signal... Cover a lot of phones and you get the same thing. It still works though.

Lately I've been having some real fucked up trouble with the 3G on Fido ... Email won't refresh, and everything else is so fucking slow ... I have to reboot it daily now to get the email working... (It just gets stuck @ 'Connecting')

Was just playing w/ the iPhone4 at work (got a few test units here for our mobile apps). 2-way camera is a nice upgrade and the resolution seems to be a lot better now compared to the 3G (wifey has one). Video cam is pretty good too.

I just got hooked up with an iPhone 4 ...

(Due to Fido fucking up my account, I had to pay full price ... I am going in to Apple store this afternoon to HUP it ... Quite a difference in price .. if the difference was say, $400 I'd say fuck it and pay full price...)

Anyway ... I dunno ... I'm holding it like it's an ancient artifact, and it's currently wrapped in 2 layers of cling wrap ... I need some fucking skins and covers...

I dunno ... it's not 'life-changing' at this point...

The problem with the 'free case' or 'bumper' solution is ... guess what. None of their other accessories now fit! Dock, car holders, etc... (I had the same problem with the 3G since I had a case.)

i have had the phone since july 30th and it's been nothing but awesome.

i jb and unlocked it so I was able to get a local sim card when i was just in HK, everything worked as it should. Never over heated or anything like the screen you got.

The free speck case I got from the case program came today.....

Mine was still wrapped in plastic when I got it. I can confirm there was no cloth included. Although it did come with two apple logo sticker
