Genetics: where does your body burn fat?

I've been doing a good bit of calorie reduction for almost three weeks now, excluding weekends. I'm fairly lean in most places (my pic in the seksi thread here) except for my stomach.
I hate that there's no such thing as spot reduction for fat. As I've gotten older, if I happen to gain weight it goes straight to my gut. But conversely when I lose weight, fat comes off from stupid places and pretty much everywhere BUT my stomach. Recently I've lost fat from my fucking FINGERS, and my face, and a little bit from my forearms. I figure that since I'm pretty much at an equilibrium point (last test I was like ~11% bodyfat) it is going to be hard to get much leaner than I already am.
Anyone else have similar issues?

Indeed, it usually takes awhile for me to start losing fat off my belly.
BTW I'm still following your protein shake diet, except I usually just have about three or four during the day and a sensible dinner at night so I don't go crazy with lack of solid food. I have to say that I'm really enjoying doing it this way because I hate preparing food to bring to work with me and I never know what to have. The convenience simplifies things quite a bit and instead of thinking about what I'm going to eat I just have a protein shake.
Of course, said shakes also make my breath smell like fucking death.  I had to start bringing gum with me, lol.

I store my fat in gut and love handles first and that's definitely where it comes off last.
Nate, last Sept I went from %11 to %9 bodyfat in short time period and the difference was hardly noticeable in areas like legs and arms but massively noticeable in the midsection. So like Drew said, just focus for another month or so hard on losing fat. Dip down into low %9 and I think you'll be happy with your midsection.

Love handles are definitely a problem area for me too. This is somewhat encouraging to read. I will be pretty happy if I can get to a noticeable six pack.

If I lose much more I will have to get my wedding ring resized as it's already getting a little loose. Unfuckingbelievable, lol.

Same, but it doesn't really bother me.
I don't get fat on my lower abs, just around my belly button and love handles - basically I get a muffin top.
