Some one told me that there are these latex gloves on the market, that are resistant to being torn or ripped. I think in the demo they are showing how the screw driver does not go through it. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I've been using diamond grip this whole time, but I'm all out, and about to reorder.

We use diamond grip at our shop, too. They're strong enough without being intrusive. I couldn't imagine working on cars without disposable gloves now. \:D

Diamond are the best I've found so far.

I use the blue nitrile gloves that vato zone sells.
they are pretty tough, but I found that airplane stripper does melt them...

Yes gloves. First to keep you clean so you don't look like a mechanic in the office. Second to keep the car clean because you just put fresh gloves on when you get them dirty to keep from transferring dirt around. I even have an oil resistant shirt with my name sewn on it that I will wear when working on the car and I can easily change out of for when I go to test drive the car. When I work on the evo I masking tape off the fenders and finished parts in the engine bay, LOL obsessive compulsive.

I use blue nitrile gloves, but I always rip the shit out of them. At the track I just use mechanix style gloves, but in the garage it's disposable or nothing at all - and then I find myself washing my hands constantly (going back and forth between Dial and Fast Orange since they each seem better at different kinds of dirt and grease)

cheers,
scott

yep, I had a pair, they are at my buddy's house right now, had a mechanic give them to me, but I can't find them anywhere either, I'll try to get them back this weekend and see if there's anything that will help identify.

Not to sound crazy, but everything that goes into your car is toxic in one way or another. The less fumes and/or contact with it, the better (in general).

And anyway, working on the car without gloves dries my hands to the point of cracked skin... especially in the cold.
