I struggled to come to terms with buying my houe at 270k!
50x100' lot .. 3bedroom side split.
Bought it off the original owner who wanted a nice young couple to have her house before she moved into the retirement home.
I put in an offer of 100$ more than asking price.. There was higher offers, but she took ours since we grew up in the neighbourhood.
That's pretty cool of the seller. yeah, that was pretty damn cool of the seller. that's what my agent was trying to tell to the seller that I grew up in the neighbourhood and I strongly feel it's the best neighbourhood for my son to grow up in. in the end, they just dont give a fuck and took the highest fucking offer. I understand the warm and fuzzy feeling that something you loved is going to the right person. But really though it's a financial exchange and I would more than likely do the same thing by selling to the highest bidder. Now if I was renting it out I would look at the individuals puttting in the offers but for a sale, then no.
4 grand difference. but it s understandable. I just wish I had known so I could added another 7 grand.

Looked at townhouses on the weekend...
$500k 3 bdrm, 2500 sq/ft, 30 x 100... FUUUUUUUUUUU YORK REGION!!!!
Haha in my area knock off 800 sq/ft and thats what a townhouse goes for, insane.
Well these are FARRRRRR, Bayview and Bloomington. "downtown" Markham (407 and Warden), $500k would buy me a penthouse 1200 sq/ft 3bdrm...FUUUUUUUUU
Townhouses there start at $600k...FUUUUUUUUUUU

How many houses have you looked at in your search?
i ve seen enough. i got so frustrated and started to look into oakville and saw one house that needed a lot of work but the area didnt appreciate in value in the last 2 years as one house sold back in jan for 15 grand less.
shrugs
there are 2 more houses I am going to look into today.
