Hi all, i tried searching already but no results. sorry if this is a repost, i havent been on this website in a while.
I have a 06 si and my battery died. I was unaware that with the computer system in these cars it can potentially fry the ecu. Whats going on is i have about a 100lbs of compression in my engine when it should be around 180 and no one can figure out why. Im convinced its the ecu or a faulty sensor somewhere but it seems no one can help me out. I Been trying to avoid going to the dealer cuz i have a race header and an exhaust on it and i don't want any warranty problems. if necessary i will be restoring it to stock and taking i there but i wanted to see if you guys had any input before i did that.
basically my question is, has anyone had any experience with this? If so what was the problem?
thanks in advance

I have not heard of the ECU's going bad on these cars at all. The only issue appears to be the security system/ingnition in circumstances where the ECU is without power for an extended period of time.

I did a quick search and the only issues related to low compression on the K20 appear to be related to detonation. So my recommendation is the dealer.

In any case, good luck.

try doing a wet compression test if the numbers go up its ur rings. it also could be carbon deposits on the valves. pour a some oil into the cylinder but not alot and do the compression test again
