Yea, if you stay outta boost, the mpg shouldn't change. Just gotta do the foot mod.

point i was trying to make is that boost is expensive. not just the kit or the installation. shit usually breaks or you find that you need something else once you have what you thought you would need. yes my mpg is down. how much, i dont know or give a fuck. not having a job right now might change that though.

I don't think you can stay out of boost with a supercharger.

even with the supercharger,
it seems like there are only but so many problems you can have with one .

Pretty sure there is a valve that keeps it from building boost except under load.

I don't think you can stay out of boost with a supercharger.

With positive displacement superchargers (roots, twin screw) you can't, unless there is some sort of bypass valve.

The Eaton supercharger system incorporates a specially designed bypass valve, which is actuated by a vacuum motor near the throttle body, and recirculates the supercharger air flow when boost is not required. During typical driving conditions, the engine is under boost around 5% of the time, which means the remaining 95% of the time the engine is under vacuum, allowing for better fuel economy and a quieter ride.

http://www.capa.com.au/eaton.htm

Dynamic superchargers (centrifugal) build more boost with more rpm's.

It's next to impossible to qualify for a loan with a sizeable car payment. And many lenders are requiring 20% down.
