Where do i get it? I googled it and i found nothing but i am guessing its tranny fluid. i dont know i never changed my fuid on my Si, there is a first time for everything how about Redline Tranny fluid is that any good?

I replaced the bushings and fluid with synchromesh, but it still does it. Also, are there any other bushing that can make the shifter more precise and stirdy?

VizaX VizaX Jr Poster Registered: 06/17/05 Posts: 100 Loc: Harrisburg, PA	You could try getting Motor Mount Inserts, I'm not sure if it'll help at all but when I owned a Mazda MP3 it was started to get hard to shift into 1st and once i get the motor mounts it went back to being real easy... I got HG Manual transmission fluid from the honda dealership, but now i'm hearing all this "syncromesh." what is that, and would it be better? _________________________ Just bought a 99 Civic Si from a friend who didn't take care of it (to say the least). It's beat up pretty bad and needs a lot of work. I don't know much about civics at the moment, but i'm learning and hopefully with everyone's help i can get the car looking & running great~ Slowly but surely...^^

I had urethane motor mounts in my other Civic and the entire cabin turned into a noise place with clicks/screaches, etc.

This might sound kind of stupid, but are you pushing the clutch ALL the way in, and brake too? It might seem like the clutch is all the way in, bu tsometimes you can give it another push and it'll go further. That's what I had to do do get first gear to go in easier. _________________________

Sometimes I have this problem... just shift it into 2nd then try 1st again. This will get the counter shaft and main shaft to sync up. Works every time

The thing is I already have a short shifter. Will the ES bushing (16.1102) work with all types/kinds of shifters? Here's a pic of where I think the "slop" is coming from. _________________________

jellydoughnutt jellydoughnutt Post Master Sr Registered: 10/06/05 Posts: 3623	a few things, frist civic13 the shifter you have is the same width as the stock shifter at the joint (bottom of the shifter). so you will need to buy the same civic bushing for your car and it will fit just fine. 209_dup2, when i got my skunk2 duel bend it was great but after a month the bolt that the bottom of the shifter (the picture right above) wiggled loose. that gave me alot of play in the shifter. so, i got some blue bottle locktight (semi perm) and readjusted the bolt a little tighter than i was confortable with. i did it a little tighter cause it will work its way a little loose until the locktight took hold. after 8 more months ive not had a single problem with it. if you want some added protection you can use a lock-washer but i didnt think it was needed. _________________________ "Badges in the Grill.....one or the other, not both. Coutts Coutts Newbie Registered: 12/17/07 Posts: 8 Loc: Sylvania	i started noticing my shifter becoming stiffer and harder to move (i have a skunk2 short throw if that makes a difference) and i also noticed it would make this annoying squeeling/squeaking noise when i would shift. I took the center console off (2000 civic ex, should be the same as the ops interior) and took the dust cap off the shifter to see the pivot ball on the shifter that it pivots on, sprayed a good amount of white lithium grease down there, wiggled the shifter till it all dripped down and just repeated until it stopped squeaking. Not only did it quiet up but i noticed a difference in how easy it was to shift/move the shifter. I suggest trying that. Also i switched over to Redline MT90 (i have a quaife in my gsr trans, wanted to use what quaife reccomended: 75w90 fluid) and man was that night and day. At first i was pissed because i just spent $10 a quart on trans fluid and it didn't do anything, but after about 2 or 3 days i started to notice it was much easier to shift, it no longer grinded going into 3rd gear, and before when i would come to a light and try to put it into 1st so i'd be ready to go when it turned green, instead of going into gear while i was moving it would just start grinding, now it goes into gear like it should. Redline trans fluid ftw!! shit works wonders. _________________________
