Here's what i got so you have an idea about what im working with...the block is 94 jdm b16, trans is 99 usdm si b16 and the head...dont think it matters but is 00 si as well. Oh, and the car is 93 civic cx hatch.
I just got the car and after driving it home, 2 days later decided to go for a little drive just to warm the car up to do a compression test and I get 2 blocks from my house and I start hearing the clunk noise, so now i'm here, changing the axles, driver side first b/c thats where the noise is coming from.
Alright...first question is where do I take the axle out from? Do I pry it right from where it goes into the tranny? or from where the axle goes into the long metal rod? Is that metal rod part of the axle? I have included pictures for a better idea about whats going on:

All help is greatly appreciated...if u want more pics just ask...i'll take them..im trying to get this done so i can get the car on the road.

Also, what axles do I use when I replace these? I would assume that i can use the 99-00 si axles, but im not sure. The axles in there now are 92-95 del sol w/b16 axles, according to the previous owner. Do i have to use the del sol axles or can i use 99-00 si axles? Thank you again for any help.

It comes out at the tranny. The best way I've found is to pry on the bottom a little, rotate 1/4 turn, pry some more, and eventually it just pops the fuck out.

Oh and you have to undo the two bolts right below the oil filter.

you shouldn't need to take out those two bolts - I never have, but you might want to remove the shock fork shown in the first pic. Last time I did it, the driver's side was a little stuck, so I used a 2x4 that was maybe 15" long or so, and held it angled enough so the end of it was pushing on the base of the axle, in between the axle base and the intermediate shaft (your 2nd pic). a couple of whacks with a hammer, and it popped right out.

alright thanks for the answers, thats what i thought, but when i was trying to get it out, it wouldn't budge, im gonna go and try the 2X4 thing now and see if I can break it loose, at least enough to get a screwdriver or prybar in there.
Also, do you know what kind of axle i need to use to replace it? If its a 99-00 si tranny then i could use the axles from a 99-00 si right?

Alright I got the axle out, now...

didn't realize you weren't going to be able to read what i wrote so
1. On the first arrow, on the left, it says that i bent the ring when i was trying to pry it out of the transmission and now it just kinda flops around...is that going to be a problem when i reinstall it?
2. The second arrow on the right...is that where i pry the axle from the intermediate shaft? Is that where the new axle goes in?

3. the axles in the car now are from 92-95 del sol w/b16, am i going to have to use the same axles if i wanna use that intermediate shaft or can i use 99-00 si axles?

Alright, i see that I have to take the axle out from the intermediate shaft...now what i want to know is if i can use the 00 Civic Si axles? or do i have to use del sol axles b/c thats what is in the car now? All help is greatly appreciated...thanks
Oh, and is it going to be a problem that i screwed up the ring on the end of the intermediate shaft that goes into the tranny? should i replace it? what do you think?

the ring my hurt it, its a dust shield. You could have left the intermediate shaft in, its a bitch to get the drive shaft off the intermediate shaft later. anways, stick with what is in there, but i think the 92-95 del sol axles are the same as the 99-00 si ones. i know for my swap i use the engine specific axles that match with the transmission.

Stick with the Del Sol axles, and Autozone is your friend for axles \:\)
