My 06 has developed a whine at all speeds when the engine revs. Car does not have to be in gear. To me it sounds like an alternator or maybe maybe maybe something with the power steering.
whine sounds like a ford's power steering in a van or f150 when you crank it all the way over.

to be honest I haven't had time. Hellish week with school. I will report back by the end of the weekend. Does seem like whine gets higher pitched at higher rpms.

Holy lack of response batman! noise is definately on the left side of the engine bay. One belt tensioner may have a slight wobble so I'm hoping is that and not the alternator bearing. Car has about 85k on the clock.

It's been a while but I think you can take a breaker bar to the bolt of the tensioner pulley and pull towards the front of the car. The pulley should lift and release tension to the belt. Then spin each of the pulleys and inspect for noise.

well i replaced the belt and checked the top 3 pulleys. Fucking whine is still there. I wasn't able to check the bottom 2 pulleys because I was lazy. So hopefully its something expensive to fix.

DAMN YOU IDLER PULLEY!!!!!
<$25 for a new plastic pull (bearing in the middle is metal) and the whine is gone. I also replaced the serp belt while I was at it. Still thinking about checking at honda if they stock a fully metal replacement rather then the plastic.

thanks for the help and you were right on here. After getting the pulley off and rotating it on my finger I could feel a bit of grind in the bearing. Also when it was spinning on the belt I saw a slight, slight, slight wobble. Didn't think it was enough to cause that horrid noise.
