Absolutely. The 20 cents you save per gallon will be eclipsed by the increase in deposits and drop in fuel economy over time. Your car is essentially burning fuel at a different temperature than what was designed. Manufacturers such as Mercedez Benz recommend running the engine hard when running a lower octane to prevent deposit buildup (among other things).
In general terms, running 87 is not horrible. But over time there is really no cost benefit.
