I have mentioned it in a few threads here and there..but have been keeping tabs on it in Got Boost for those that venture that way.

I am not going to duplicate the thread, instead just post the link for those that are interested.

http://forums.clubsi.com/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/3380440

I keep daily/weekly updates with plenty of pictures as well.

Enjoy.

I think you are going to have to push that turbo harder to reach your goals than you would with a 35R or equivalent. With the newer turbo's coming out these days, I don't understand why people still chose turbo's that are on the smaller side. I guess we'll see...

Are you basing these kit decisions on another setup?

Oh, and that manifold looks really nice. Coat it while it's out. Tubulars don't like being wrapped.

I second Jack, a 3076 would not be my turbo of choice for a 500whp build. But then, I know shit about F22C´s.

That manifold is awesome.

Any plans for the tranny and rear differential?

I was looking for powerband, not peak numbers although I still have a goal in mind.

If it won't make the power, all I will have to change is the turbo..and with it being a top mount it shouldn't be a problem. Easy to get to.

All I hear is how efficient these motors are...I was told by a very reputable tuner (online) that it should make 500whp on 18-19lbs.

gt3076r's w/an .82 a/r are good for around 550whp. I will be short of that and well within it's efficiency range.

Remember, I'm still 11:1 compression.

It won't be on pump..but thats ok.

The exhaust housing of the turbo is coated, and the downpipe and w/g dump will be wrapped..the manifold will not be touched.

He will likely have a great powerband, just without that "big turbo" top-end that makes it all worth it.

You mean like your peaky supercharger has? Burn! ;\)

Don't get me wrong, I'm rooting for you to make your goal, I just think it would be easier to reach using a turbo like a twin-scroll 35r or an HTA 35r that would spool up ~500 rpm later but support an extra 150 whp. You do have a 8-9000 rev limit after all.

You're right though, it's going to be a blast either way.

It's going to be badass. I love turbo S2ks.
One of these days I will build my own.
Are you going to upgrade the differential?
I want to see timeslips, not just dynoqueen numbers.

I think it can make the numbers, if not...well @ least I tried.

You are right though, it would have been easier to use a 35r I think looking back..but I was really interested in a fun street car b/c thats where 99.9% of my driving is. I don't make it to the track but a few times a year.

But like I said earlier, if it fails to make solid numbers, I'll swap out the 30r, and grab a 35r and a new tune.

As far as the rearend goes, I am just gonna play that by ear. It's an 05, and they have a better track record (no pun intended) on holding up...so we shall see.

OF course.

Picked up the flywheel from the machine shop, had to get it resurfaced. Clutch/fly/pp is going on tomorrow, along w/the tranny. Alot to bolt up, and depending on what I get into, it might drag into Sun/Mon. Just have to see what happens.

More pics to come as I start assembling stuff.

Jebus, twice the power on stock internals? Are you nuts?

Even 400-450 is pushing it, despite being a great motor. Did I miss something or are you planning to reinforce?

Nah. Everyone is making awesome power on stock motors now. 500-600whp is the norm.

A guy just made over 700whp a few weeks back on 100% stock motor and big turbo.

after watching everyone else on the forums push the motors they really are strong motors. it's just a matter of not going cheap on the engine management, fuel, and tuning. reputable tuners with experience on these cars are making lots of safe power. the guy who hit 700whp a little while ago has had a couple different turbo setups and has been over 450whp for a while now, before the 700whp setup he was at 575whp, something like that.

Kuj was making 535whp on a 35r for a good while before he stepped it up to 700whp on his new setup.

Quoting future mods and power those future mods will make is just lame. FYI buddy

I believe the F20/f22 are the only Honda motors that come with forged pistons and rods. So yeah...they can take boost, regardless of the high compression.

This is my 2nd project. I already built a 450whp Si a few years back. It was a blast, I'm hoping this is the same.
