Phase 1 setup lacked a radio, which the wife needs, and the amp wasn't really providing a good sound. So, I decided to redo the entire setup.

For Phase 2, I removed the amp and went with a head unit instead. The headunit is a Kenwood unit. At first I had installed the stereo in the cubby where the OEM cupholders are located. After driving the car for a while we knew that the location was way to low to be managing the system. After fining that the Acura model of this same car in Canada came with a nice piece that has the stereo right below the double din, I was able to find it and purchase it.

This is how the finished system looks. The stereo is located right below the double din screen and it's right at the finger tips of the driver. The stereo has the bluetooth adapter, so talking via the phone is seamless.

This is a close up of the stereo. It fits perfect in the space. To the right of the stereo is a USB port \:\) What I did was to remove the cigarrette lighter but used it's holder and molded a USB extension onto it. It came out really nice and OEM looking.


The same computer was used in the same location.
