Hey im here local in san diego and I need to pass smog to register my car but I am throwing a random misfire code that will not turn off for anything. I have had 3 mechanics look at it and no one can find the problem. I just need some advice on a shop that you guys have been to or know that HELP people in need of passing. Thank you.

You WILL NOT PASS unless you can get that CEL fixed. Just resetting the ECU will not work because the computer will still show the ECU as not being reset. The car needs to go through a drive cycle before it can be tested after being reset, and by that time theat CEL will show up again. Have you read the code yourself??? Take it to Autozone and borrow their reader to find out what code your throwing and go from there.
It would help if we knew the code number being thrown. It might be early signs of a front O2 sensor failure.

EDIT: You can also do a 'hot' test to see if anything is out of the ordinary. For example, the O2 may not read as a fail but will be slow to react to changing conditions...

Well I reset the ecu before going in and it was reading that it wasn't ready for testing. So I went drove it around for about 15 minutes. I came back and it was ready for testing no light. I was just sitting anxiously in the lobby and the guy came back and said it PASSED no light came on during the run. =) . I was a random misfire code and for some reason it has not come back on since that smog run 3 days ago.

When you do reset the ECU you will have to drive the car for about 15 miles or so. The ECU once you reset would have no data stored in the ECU for emissions, that is why they tell you that you are not ready for smog yet. These are called readiness codes not cell. Once readiness codes are complete then you should be good to go. there are 4 readiness codes for our cars which are Catalytic monitor,primary 02,secondary 02 ,Evap monitor.
Missfire? try checking wires, plugs ,sparkplugs. I did one for a customer and worked.
