JDM = Japanese Domestic Market USDM = United States Domestic Market CDM = Canadian Domestic Market EDM = European Domestic Market
Basically means each market has slightly different parts for the same car in their market. These slightly different parts can be swapped (with little or no effort) to any other of the same model car from a different market. For example, power folding side mirrors from a JDM Civic to a USDM one.

Also if someone considers a car to be JDM they mean the car has a mostly stock appearance with only typically stock looking aftermarket exterior parts (ie no massive wings or aggressive bodykits) and the focus on these cars is what is under the hood.

well a lot of them also have JDM things on them... side marker lights, taillight, headlight etc.

Beware of fake JDM parts which tend to be cheap (too good to be true) and break. The Chinese have flooded the market with all kinds of rip-offs. Some are obvious and others are harder to detect.
