After seeing mom and me run a few marathons, ect., my 6 year old and I ran our first mile together today. Fun times, and he loves it! Not bad, he did a 12 minute mile after having a baseball and football game yesterday!

5 miles in 43 minutes today on a hill run. Getting better, it hurt though, heart rate was up over 170-175+ for half the run.

How many miles on your shoes? I've heard time for new ones after 300.

Thanks guys!

Especially Silock, I've been listening to his Act Accordingly mix every 5k I run. I know it's time to kick it in high gear when I hear the begining of Space Hopper by Alex Metric.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu I need to get back in on this. I havent been running (save for 1 jog every 2 weeks) since January really. I was in such a groove last year, knocking 7 minutes off of my 5k time and now Ive got ~10lbs of fat covering up my previous progress. Its getting cold once again and Im just not motivated but I know I NEED to do it. Freakin' sucks. \:\( HALP!

Find a local running club - if you can't find one, make one! nothing motivates like a group.

I almost purchased the Nike free shoes this weekend, silock ran in them and liked them.

Anyone have them and really put some miles into them?

Did my second run in these....an easy 5 miler. Did 6.2 a couple days before as well. I love em.

Also did my best effort in the pool last night...50 laps/2500 yards in 50 minutes. The swim in my tri will be no problem.

I'm on Week 1, day 2 of Couch to 5k.

I've been running consistently for a few weeks now, but just decided to start this program. I was tempted to start on week 3 or so, but I'm gonna let the program work itself out.

My pace for the C25K program are 3.8 (fast as I can walk without jogging) and 6.5 on a treadmill. The minutes per mile looks weak due to the warmups and cooldowns. I was just recently able to run a consistent 6.0 without stopping for an entire mile. I have a long way to go, but I'm enjoying running a lot lately.

Edit: I'm running with Nike Free's, but I'm not sure how different they are since I don't really have anything to compare them to. I do like them, but they are kinda loud (visually), even for the plainest looking ones.

4 mile run this morning.

Rain most of the day, so looks like my cycling tonight will be on the trainer. Indoor intervals FTW (good workout) and FTL (fucking painful).

Didn't get to run this morning...too many appointments. I did swim 2k yards last night though. Tomorrow I drive the kids up north, but I'm bringing my bike so my dad and I can do 1 or 2 nice long rides, a few runs and a few swims too.

Thanks man!

I got on the treadmill today and realized that I hadn't synced my ipod with the Couch to 5k audio, so I just winged it.

Ran at 5.5, walked 5 minutes at 3.8, ran 1 mile at 6.0, then a cooldown.

Short 2.11 mile run today, but fuck it's hot. 90+ degrees. Oh, and god bless crushed limestone trails; no more asphalt running for me. Now maybe my feet won't hurt so damn bad.

Glad I found this trail, not only for the limestone, but for the hills too. Nothing crazy grade-wise, but more than enough to get a burn in the legs. I'm going to hit up the trail again tomorrow, can't wait!!

4 miles this morning. I'm still not fast, but I'm creeping under 9:00/mile. Got the four miles in at 8:53/mile.

Finally was able to run through a Couch to 5k session. I normally run the fast parts and walk the slow ones, but I was able to run at 5.0 and 6.5 for the entire duration today.

I'm down 37 pounds from my heaviest as of this morning.
