I want a GTD so bad as a DD. LNXGUY you are dead set on the Colorado Diesel to replace to wagon?
I'll never replace the wagon with a truck, if I gotta commute back into the city one day I'll be fucked. The only thing the Colorado diesel will replace is my S10 ZR2.
I'll drive me wagon until the wheels fall off.

When the DC2 ITR were in production, did they sell out like hot cake? It was a $40K car after taxes, no?
In 2001 the final production year, did some dealerships stuck with unsold unit carrying into 2002 when the RSX was released?
that's way before my time here, but from what i know i believe honda (acura) had an allotment of cars they could bring in from JPN (way less than the USA as usual) and i believe certain years it sold out...but not all.
eventually they did all sell as 'new' though, but i doubt many dealers gave much discount off MSRP. no idea if there were any units carried over...doubt many. Canada's numbers for the car were quite limited. i believe 98-01 the price stayed the same, if not very close...$29k - $29,999 was the range i think, i'm quite sure it did not run you $40k even after tax+freight/pdi, no.
i talked with the a vp (now the current president) here about them a couple of years ago...he said they were in very high demand at the time. the market was strong at first, then i beleive there was another market down-turn nearing the end of the production run...so less money in ppl's pockets to spend.
a cool little tidbit he mentioned though - new R customers would get a special "key presentation" at the dlr with it being in a box or something like that (i think he mentioned a certificate of some sort as well, with the car's ID# o n it). it'd be fun to know if anyone knows someone who actually bought one new off the lot who could vouch, lol. oh, and also a friendly reminder to run 91+ octane only

i like it - i mean yeah it's got the modern look finally and maybe a touch bland from certain angle (still not a huge fan of the front grill styling ugh). i like the rear end doe. from guys here who've played with it apparently it's a very nice step fwd vs. the old one and you definitely notice in the drive. fit and finish much nicer too. i just pray it doesn't have some of the new-car-issues we're seeing say...in some acuras LOL
I'll just stfu and wait

What was the mileage on the 99.5 TDI when you got rid of it?
610k I should have driven it until it just stopped dead, but I couldn't pass up the price of the wagon.

I would buy you a beer if YOU buy one. You been talking on here and OT about buying a CTR and Focus RS once they are for sale in Canada. I am waiting for your milk thread

Sure. My 03 civic is showing its age, and it still drives like a champ. However, the question is - how long can I have the car for? I miss the sound of the turbo spool. If I had a choice w/ the ford or a honda. I'd gladly take a honda reliability over a ford any day of the week.
However, having said that. If it's gonna be well over 55 to 60k+ OTD for a damn civic, I'll laugh.
I'll gladly settle for a detuned 2.4L turbo civic Si if CTR does not come to N.A.

the wifes Pontiac Vibe has an issue where the Digital Odo only goes to 299,999 before it stops working lol. Maybe pontiac thought these cars wouldn't go further than that

Id buy a CTR over an RS or R too. Even if they were down on performance from the other 2, the Civic looks better and will be 100% reliable. The R looks kinda boring and the RS looks like a hot mess inside and out.

^why no consideration for the bog standard wrx? that motor is arguably better than the ej25. power delivery makes much more sense for street use! unless the rs/r/r/sti is being bought for track use, i'm not certain that there are clear advantages over the more standard offering.
If you just want power, any turbo car can be made to put down some serious power. even the gti is getting retarded dyno #s (even without a tune!)
