I should be down to 158-159 by the end of this week. I'll see if I can find some pictures from my weight cut. All in all, I've cut from 175-161 as of today.

I oscillated between 175-170 for a while before I got serious about it, then the pounds started flying off. If I hit the scales at 159 Friday, that will be 7-8 pounds in 2 weeks, lol. I've been eating 900-1000 calories 6 days a week, with one cheat weekend where I had steak and hamburgers at the Disney resort.

Lol. I use regular yellow dial soap in the shower. Hair (what little I have) face, body etc. It dries my skin out in the winter so I have to use lotion after the shower
Now I keep a bottle of cocoa butter in my gym bag. Soft skin and I smell delicious!

Search Crossfit on youtube and you will get the idea. You have been posting videos of you doing cleans, deadlifts, squats, etc. I'm surprised you are not all over it already.
Now I know why I was strangely attracted to Rumble at that Hooters meet. :hai: Got room for me for Vegas? Need a wingman?

The before was six months of me doing nothing and after separating from my last girl. I get in shape and out of shape every year. I'm strong I'm just a lazy ass and lose my progress pretty quickly. Gain it back pretty quick also.

go to http://www.crossfit.com and look at the workouts posted for the past month. that's basically it.
the programming at an actual CrossFit gym will probably be a bit easier than that, and contain more starting strength type weightlifting as most people who join the gyms come in with little weightlifting background.

Yea man I'm working on it but damn, I'm starting to think I'm a hard gainer or something because I've been lifting now for 4 months (3 months on, 1 month off, 1 month on) and hontestly looking at the pictures it just looks like I dieted, not dieted + lifted. I'm going to keep at it for of course, I mean what other option it there, but it is a little discouraging.

My .02 is your diet is holding you back or your effort in the gym is lacking.
You can add stuff to the 5x5 program, I'm pretty sure. I'd have to do some arm work, a little chest work etc if it were me. I just couldn't lift 3 days a week or whatever the schedule is. I like lifting 5 days a week.
But stick with the gym, you'll make progress but you may need to adjust your workouts or your diet to make some better gains.

Diet as in eating too much or too little for gains? I am at 1500 calories now. It was at 1200 before but figured I'd up it a little to help muscle growth. I'm still losing about 1 - 1.5 lbs per week on the scale.
At the gym, I'm giving it good effort...though up until now (the last month of Starting Strength) it's been light weights just building up to the heavier ones...now I'm actually getting into some heavier weights so I'll see how that goes...plus I'm adding in chin-ups as of Monday which will work do some work on my biceps.
And to add...I may have been too quick to judge that the lifting hasn't been doing it's part in shaping my body. I found some additional pics that I took when I was previously 179lbs (down from 192lbs with dieting only, no lifting). You can definitely tell that there is a different posture and shape to the body I think.

Diet as in not feeding your body after working out. Not eating enough to gain muscle. Of you haven't been lifting very heavy then that's why you aren't gaining fast. Lift heavy (for you), lots of intensity. Add extra work in if you have energy and time. The SS program doesn't have to be your only weight training. Do your routine then go bang out some dips, chins, pushups, curls, etc. have fun and work hard.

good job on the weight loss but damn son look into boxer briefs... those are some ugly ass skivvies...
and i think you've lost a great deal of weight, time to up the calories and start adding some muscle... start with 2000 a day for a few weeks and make sure you're not adding fat... train hard, and get plenty of carbs within an hour of your training and get a slow digesting protien or some BCAA's at bedtime...

HX_Guy.....it's going to take you a long time to gain muscle man. It took me 4 years of solid lifting to gain 20 pounds in high school. When I first started out I could barely bench 95 pounds. Then I was up to 265 by the end at 155 pounds.
This is going to take years. This isn't a quick summer fix to look like the cover to Men's Health. This is now and forever going to be a lifestyle change. If you are eating healthy and lifting just to make a figure, you will be entirely disappointed.
However, if you adopt these changes because you see the health benefits and you enjoy lifting at the gym, pushing yourself hard, and feeling great, then welcome to the club.
