Cstyle, Krys, Drew, you're all looking hot! (no homo since I included Krys).

Drew I love the squat depth. Are you hitting that same depth at 315?

You're ankles do look like they are rolling in but could be the picture. If they are though, just make sure you are 'spreading' the floor. I dont think you need to go any wider unless you want to but just making sure you are pushing outwards at the knees as well as the feet you'll be fine.

I've always found it easier to drive through the heels when my feet are a bit closer together, perhaps solely because I'm thinking more about it and concentrating on it (although, I just noticed that I change the angle of my feet when they get closer together, so that probably has something to do with it, too). Right now, they're wider than shoulder-width by about the width of my foot, hard to tell from that angle. My heels aren't coming up off the ground so much as rolling inward, so I'll try the suggestion to widen the stance, for sure. Maybe my stance is different for my heavy set. I wish I could have gotten pictures of that one, instead.

Bar position feels good, though. I can't go lower with it, and it's definitely sitting below the neck.

EDIT: Tried low-bar... just don't like it. Doesn't feel right.

I'm glad I took the pictures, though. It's always good to see your form and what you need to correct, especially when you're working out by yourself. Form probably started out fine, but over time, you might end up changing it little by little and not ever notice.

I thought I was doing squats the right way all these years then I see guys doing crossfit and they are touching ankles with their asses.

I don't want to provide input like I know what the fuck I'm talking about, but I saw a few of this dudes videos before signing up and they post them all the time on my gyms blog.

They really focus on you being technicians of movement more than trying to throw 5 plates and squat it half ass like a lot of people or worse wrong and fuck yourself up.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JU7Lqw1mmu8

he's got another video I can't find but he's showing you how to properly squat and stretching exercises to increase your depth and explain how form like you posted above can possibly injure you.

I do hope to read more about your progress man and get that all sorted out.

That's a good video, but flexibility isn't my problem. The limiting factor in depth should be calf-hamstring contact, and not some other kind of tightness. If my calves weren't so big, I could go lower, but I think that's a good problem to have \:\)

I'm sure it will be fine. Probably just a matter of foot position. Yesterday was my light squat day (only 180 lbs or so), and I had someone watch my form, and there were no heel off the ground or ankle rolling issues. Maybe I was just being lazy in the pic. I'll find out tomorrow when I do another high-weight attempt.

Fixed the issue. I don't know what it was. Guess I was just having an off-day. Hit the depth with heels down at 305x5 tonight.

Working out.. serious business.. definitely feel myself getting noticeably stronger. 2 months ago I'd struggle to do 6 or 7 good dips.. I can bust out 15 now without much struggling \:\) Endurance still sucks.. I can only maintain a 8:34 min/mile pace for 3 miles.. getting better though since I was up in the 9:30 range.

booo crazed. not as cut/change from the last pic. i was expecting epic black genetics.

wtf do you think i could beat usane bolt in a race? i think i could lol drunk.

i did a 5k yesterday at 5 min/km (which is 3.125 miles at 8:02) and it was cake...seriously. it was a steady comfortable pace. not pushing at all.

i told you already you got sprint genes. . not endurance genes. youll bust a 40 in like 4.0

I'd say it all depends on your build and what your end goals are. Get to 160 then if you wanna go lower then go lower.

I'll see if I can get a pic up soon... and I may be way off here, but my point was more that I don't think I have 30lbs of fat to lose. My build is sort of similar to yours I think(in terms of muscle mass).

If you have a similar build to me and are 2" taller, I'd venture to say a weight of 150-155 would be a good number if you're looking towards low BF numbers.

Most people underestimate the amount of body fat they have to lose to get really ripped.

Very true indeed. A rule of thumb I heard from someone and it's held true in my case is this:

Take your height (5'6" in my case)

Give yourself 100# for 5'
Add 6# per inch over 5'

That'll be your target body weight to achieve a low BF % (8-10%). Now granted this won't be the way for people with large amounts of muscle mass. But like I said it's held true for me giving me a target body weight of 136#.

Yeah, that's pretty close. For me, that tells me 166, when it's probably closer to 168-170 in reality. I like it.

Comes out to 160 for me, but I feel I'm still about 5-8lbs heavier than I want to be and I'm at 158 now. 14.5" arm, 40" chest.

PS: You lower stomach looks so damn tight and lean. It's like someone is pulling down hard on your wang and stretching it downward.

Lol. You referring to the V taper around my hips? To my knowledge that is 100% genetics and there's nothing you can do to change it. That honestly didn't start to pop out for me until about 2-3 weeks ago. Def something that starts to stand out at sub 10% BF.

Edit - same for the veins in my lower abs. I don't know if you can see them in the pic or not.
