Like the world is just becoming more and more polarized, and people are more violent. Locally, you look at all the Synagogues that have been shot at, the Iranian boxing gym, and now the US consulate. A year or so ago, we had the father and son terrorists duo from Richmond Hill arrested.
Seems to me the GTA is not safe from geopolitical conflicts (terrorism). How long before we see something like this failed bomb attempt in NYC? Do you feel safe anymore?
Might we dare attribute some of this to bad immigration policy, specifically in that we no longer properly vet people entering our country, nor do we positively promote or foster a cohesive Canadian identity and value structure? Or is this predominantly a home-grown issue, perhaps we're raising sympathizers to foreign causes?

for most part yes. you go to REAL shitty parts of the world...that is some real deal stuff you would not wanna be near. life here is still great for the most part vs. other parts of the world.
but for our standards we'ere definitely NOT where we used to be re. safety, nor where we should be for what our standards are. the richmond hill one wasn't far from us...that is kind of one of those 'underground' cases you dont see until it's caught or too late, if it turned into somehting WAY bigger (scary thought). for regular street/immigrant crime that's prob a bigger issue now than before, but 'small' compared to what i think you're referring to...'bigger' type (potential) crime like terror type attacks or shootings/fighting due to cultural/religion type stuff.
canada is bs politics...we're fucked with PC or progressives, but we've been esp fucked by progressive gov since trudeau was in power, and it's only become worse. they opened the doors to all sorts of immigrants, indian, islamic, etc. and not exactly the ideal "kind" either. this was on purpose which is more infuriating...and you can't tell me they didn't "know" what would come. the immigrants here today are not the same as earlier generation types. some hate us/being here sure, but some are just along for the ride and go protest and stir shit up because they're told to and paid to do so.
the yonger immigrants that came are NOT hard working (save for a few legit ones that try) or tolerant of others like their parents are/were...it's fucked. or they're lazy/usless call centre type or fast food workers who are useless. we need immigrants that can build a nation, think what mid-eastern nations do (but treat them WAY better than they do lol). the police can't do shit as they're overworked and underfunded and our Gov progressive policies are BEYOND stupid with catch/release. they give more fucking rights to the criminals than the victim! insane. we need a republic and leadership like el salvador has done. or setup something like the swiss have.
if you want "real talK" rabbit hole shit (and i now believe it more than ever), canada is/always has been a bitch country for the use of other powers that be. pretty much globalist powers have been pulling the strings a long time, it's stupid obvious now since carney "won" and the diretion he's leading us to. PUBLIC servants...yeah right, they don't 2 shits about Canadians....it's easy to see. we're a doormat, funnel and bank for drugs/trafficking/money laundering (all proven) and you can see once they cut china off...our housing is fucked (shocker lol). the banks/central bank all in on it too..whatever they can get away with. the media is always a MAJOR tool...it's so stupid obvious now that i'm older and see it, shit ive heard for YEARS now makes sense. CBC/etc all the usual suspects tweak their news to lean left but not even just that...it caters to Gov narratives that make 0 sense. meantime anyone over 60 eats that shit up and vote accodingly cos they dont know any better. they've been programmed since ww2 to follow the narrative. immigrants will of course help push that with their protest bs (paid for btw by the same elites) for the narrative. as much jewish money here and connections/power that has been...our gov is pro islam and other bs like that...but it's due to zionist powers.
all my blabber here basically means this has been pushed on us by nefarious parties (aka zionist jew/globalist agenda), as they basically just loaded us (also the EU and UK bigtime, and to a degree the US) with dirty immigration to eventually take over. they've been doing this/planning this for years and it happens over a long ass time so you 'dont notice' and think "oh yeah immigration sure has changed" yet you can't do shit about it cos you're too busy working, paying taxes, trying to provide, busy with life and trying to get an ounce of enjoyment in life. this stuff goes WAY back and relates even to ukrainians, mid east, israel, iran/persians here, given all the connections progressives have to these types. PC aren't a picnic but we need some nationalism back. media has pushed "far left" shit SO far left that even if youre middle ... now you're "far right" lol.
people need to wake up and see/pay attention wtf is going on around them. do enough digging and you'll see i'm not wrong. this is NOT the same as 70s-90's immigration types. as for cost if living...some of this has an effect on that too but og 10yrs of gov fucked us royally on that too, not to mention selling almost 0 of our amazing nat resources. for 40mil ppl we would be getting yearly rebates from our gov in 1000's and have amainzg infrastruture like singapore, uae, etc - but we don't. same shit since the 70s

I feel safe, but responses will be a reflection of the bubbles we all live in.
As far as immigration, Justin Trudeau was the most irresponsible PM we've had and this is the hangover phase. Canada is a very resource rich country and we should be thriving, but bad policy and pandering to a small group of loud voices is what got us here.
