Traffic has been at a standstill and it's summer + WFH. Leaving at 6am to go downtown, traffic. Leaving DT at 7pm, traffic almost starting at BMW Toronto again.
I get it, less people on public transportation, but how are we going to get around when offices open?
What are everyone's schedules looking like come September?
WFH, hybrid, back to 100% in office?

I like WFH in the short term with two little ones. I get to see them more and I get to sleep in. I think there is voluntary work in office but being on the Go train for a hour plus with a train full of strangers does not appeal to me.
So...no. only time is likely an outdoor work event.

I don’t think I’ll see my office until Jan at the earliest, and even then, I’ll be in no more than twice a week. To start, it’ll probably be once a week.

not being forced back. i wont have an assigned desk anymore. my hours in the office is much shorter and is the only reason why i would go back in. my team is in the US add. how are the elevator situations like for those who have been back in? i went to the mall over the weekend. 3 per elevator
I recall getting into the elevator at 5 PM pre covid and I could literally feel my coworker's button on my leg....

with a mass exodus from downtown out to the sticks, if things go back to "normal" - i'm wondering if traffic will be much worse (because more people will have to commute again - regardless if its 50% of the time or whatever)
we're being told office re-opening will be soon, no formal dates - rumour is 1-2x a week -- at least its in the new tower that was just built
now that i don't have to mad rush to go home for daycare pick up, i'll travel off peak if i have to; but i do find that i'm more productive at home (i can run my personal errands if i'm waiting for people at work to respond)
i'm of the webcam OFF camp - i like to multi-task so i will not make eye contact (w/ the cam) - and i don't have a poker face so i will roll my eyes / give that wtf look when people say something stupid; plus most meetings where i get pulled in is because PMs that don't know any better just randomly pull the whole village in for every little thing that doesn't involve 90% of the invitees
will only turn the cam on when it's department meeting when your 1-up or 2-up boss is talking so you gotta play that "i'm listening" part -- but work meetings; so far no one has complains about it
