Bilstein shocks/struts

Looking to replace all 4 oem on my car, I think they’re blown (lot of clunking and harsh ride). Bilstein seem to be the brand to go with compared to Monroe or kyb.

I actually ordered the items from RockAuto but for some reason I got an email saying the carrier (DHL) returned them to their warehouse by mistake and to reorder and they refunded my money but I lost out $20 because of the current stupid exchange rate. Don’t know if I want to try again with them as this has left me with an uneasy feeling. Who knows as it may happen again and I’m out more money. I ordered from them in the past (rotors) and had no issues.

I’ve looked at other places online, tdotperformance, gtrauto, partsengine, partsavatar, shocksurplus, shock warehouse and som3 have reasonable prices but when you look at reviews of the store they are horrendous. Customer service/returns/etc are sometimes non-existent.

So my question is does anyone recommend a shop/store that can get bilsteins?

What car is this for?

Are you using stock springs or lowering springs?

It might just be a fluke that it happened to me but I'm having second thoughts about ordering from them at this time.

It's for a 2010 Mazda 6 on stock springs. Looking to getting the B4 series.

I only have source to European car parts at the moment. Sorry.

You may want to contact Rockauto customer service and explain to them what your concerns are, Im sure they can alleviate your concerns.

Re: Bilstein shocks/struts

So I emailed customer service at RockAuto and asked what the issue was and why the carrier returned the package and they said the carrier didn't give a reason.

I then called DHL to see what they had to say and the CS rep said the shipper printed the label but did not request DHL to come pick it up for delivery WTF!! Even though I got an email saying it was shipped.

That means RA "lied". I'm assuming they got the items together, printed the shipping label and forgot to ship it out and when they realized it they just refunded me the money and gave that lame excuse. Of course this is all circumstantial.

Would you guys try ordering again??

From my googling they are the cheapest in price with shipping and duty/brokerage all included in the final price.

Re: Bilstein shocks/struts

I've bought a lot from Partsavatar without issue. Yes their customer service sucks if you need to follow up on order status though.

I bought bilsteins from there and also amazon with no issue recently.
