Titty sprinkled opticoat magic on the car. My car had horrid swirl marks on it and he managed to get rid of it. I've never seen my car this shiny. Thanks Titty! |

very glad you're happy with it! car fought me a bit. getting those buffing marks out by the dumbass that didn't know what he was doing with a rotary before took some doing. before: after (not ceramic coated yet): polished the hood twice, then took it back to compound x2, then re-polsihed x 3. thanks for the compliments fellas! |

Hey Titty, can you expand a little for the inquiring minds like my own? I'm planning on tackling a vehicle (not my own) that looks worse than c2k's ride. What did you use for each round? Polished twice then compound then polished thrice again? |
well basically, first off let me explain that 1 pass with the rupes polisher is like the equivalent of 3 passes with a porter cable or the like. so on a black car with marring etc and about to get a coating, without going extra and compounding the entire car that would take alot of effort and time (and cost) i did 2 slow passes with a polishing pad and a polishing product (M205) that step got the paint looking great, however wasn't aggressive enough to get out the holograms from whoever polished the car before with the rotary and fucked it up. so i went two steps back or more aggressive to a compound (M105) with a cutting pad. this is one step less abrasive than wetsanding. did two passes to make sure that the buffer marks were gone, and then re-polished the hood to bring back shine and level everything out. then re polished twice, IPA wipedown, and then ceramic coated. the rest of the car was fine, but the hood was more like a fix rather than a maintenance kinda deal. |

how long did this all take? 8+ hours? |
about 4-5...but i'm much quicker than the average person. (that's what she said) |

The pics really does not do justice and the swirl marks were really bad. I didn't notice the swirl marks until March when the weather started to improve. I think the dealer tried to hide the scratch on the hood by "buffing" it out. But all in all, Im super happy it's gone and the car looks amazing. I picked it up from a VW Dealer as a CPO in January and it had 34k km on it. The car now has 48k km and Im going to wait until the extended factory warranty runs out at 75k km. Once the warranty runs out, the fun begins. |

The X5 is gleaming!!! How's the pollen (or whatever it is) in your areas? This year has been brutal. Everything is always covered in yellow dust. |

look at the shine! nice job titty. Although, it's been a year since you did my car. I've been using the compound spray once or twice a year. The paint is a mess due to the pollen and marks from the damn kids in the parking lot. Do you put a wax or something to clean the paint up a bit more? |
