new to the game. need some engine info

hey guys. i just bought a 2000 civic si with 120k on it. it is the nice blue and in perfect condition minus blown engine for 600.00

now, the engine is all apart, and the number one rod broke loose, and went through the head. i do not have the pistons or rods out of the engine. but the head has the spark plug area and valves blown through. no fixing it.
i am an old geezer into the old mopars,a nd have had my share of built 2gawd t/e/l mitsu products, but see that these hondas are alot different.
throughout the years i have seen that the hondas are more reliable, and i am not going for speed records.
i just sold a 1970 340-4 speed plymouth duster, and am looking for engine upgrade info.

what engine would be the best for the buck? since i have no clue if the trans is good, should i go with a full swap? what swap for 3500.00 and less would be my best option, or should i just spend the 1,500.00 for a jdm b16a2?

thanks for the info

give me some ideas !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The B18c5 would be a direct bolt in and if you can find it for cheap the best bang for your buck. Otherwise just stick with the B16. They are easy to come by. The B18 from the GSR is not worth the hassle.

It’s an Optimized laptop with Snap Assist and Desktop Groups and a perfect laptop for heavy workloads. Another thing, you have the option to upgrade it. That’s why I count it one of the best laptops for writers. With the premium features, it seems the best laptop for business as well. You can also consider it the best laptop for writing and photo editing.
