I'm getting my work in now before the eventual birth of my second. Don't know how often gym time will come around after. Up to about 162# from 130# or so.

Because the outcomes with surgery and non-surgery are statistically equivalent. So, there's no harm in trying the non-surgical option first. Also, recovery time with surgery is far longer than non-surgical.
You've been dealing with this shoulder issues for a long time IIRC. Surgery recovery is a few months and the problem is fixed. It's maybe a week or shitty, followed by a month of caution then 1-2 months of building back up and my surgery was more invasive than most.

Perhaps. It happened at the end of June, and I had to let it recover enough for me to start doing PT, and I just finished my PT.
