I'm still waiting for fucking Rogers to come fix my buried cable. I'm spliced into my neighbour's cable, dangling from the eavestrough ... Looks like shit, and I ain't looking forward to the fucking mess they'll be doing.... \:\(

Call Rogers and complain. I had 4 cables fed through my trees when the city had to dig up my driveway to fix the water main break. Took them 4 months to finally bury the cables!

Instead of fixing my shitty lawn, I think I'll just buy a new house.

Milk thread to follow

Sorry for the old thread bump, but my new lawn is pretty fucking kickass. It needs a mowing though. Do I still keep it long this time of year?

Good to hear. I'd say one last cut before putting down winter fertilizer in Oct. Now that the heat has calmed down it's ok to go a bit shorter.

Should I be Weed-n-Feed'ing in the fall, or wait for the spring?

I usually do it in spring (early!) because i'll do overseed now in fall with the winter fertilizer. can't use weed n feed type stuff with new grass seed because it'll just kill it before it gets a chance to grow.

spoke to a landscape guy i know who goes some lawn maintenance on the site, he said if you can find killex (it's in Canada if you look around hard enough) get that, works great. i'm gonna try and use it next spring. you can just mail-order from AB or QC (but rumour has it they've even banned it there too??). now it's just bloody expensive for the size bottle you get.

Bumping this shit back up to the top. Just had the lawn dethatched yesterday, deer god I don't think the previous owner did any sort of lawn maintenance at all. I filled probably a dozen bags with clippings, it looks like my lawn has been raped

Once the overnight lows are no colder then 5 degrees or so I'm going to overseed. Is there any sort of fertilizer I should be buying from the US in order to help speed up the process? I'm guessing some preemergent herbicides would also be a good idea (Again shit we can't buy here)

I just picked this up at lunch today.
https://www.homedepot.ca/en/home/p.scotts-turf-builder-ez-seed---454-kg-bag.1000666184.html

Not sure if it's the slope of the front yard or the big ass pine tree but the lawn looks like patchy ass. Need some sod on the other side of the sidewalk, apparently Bell did some work last year ripping up the lawn and streets. The bit of sod they put down is dead now.

Will also need to buy a lawn mower some time soon. New house fun

Magic Carpet is hands down the best fertilizer for the lawn. I had to cut my parent's grass twice already this week and it's growing super fast.

I gave up on my lawn. Can't be bothered spending hundreds of dollars and countless hours on this billshit. It's next to impossible to bring back once you neglect it. Probably better off laying new sod.

Good luck ladies

That's my backyard currently although I haven't cut it lol.

First nice day and all the fescue will be died though. Gonna attempt a KBG lawn at the front this year. My patience will be tested for sure.

Lol, reminds me of the thread where you kept asking for concrete numbers & Wayne kept saying it depends on what direction you want. Going with A = this, going with B = this.

Risky, but what are the numbers
