I've been looking at picking up a daily driver and comparing the list prices on Autotrader vs KBB value. 2010 is right around the corner and all these cars are going to be one model year older in less than two months. I'm wondering if KBB prices will drop accordingly in January of 2010?
Trying to figure out if the car's a 2003 with 65k miles, should I put in 2002 with 65k miles to get a more accurate price of what the car's actually going to be worth in two months.

KBB is bullshit. I think it was created by dealers to fuck people over.

Try the Nada guide or TMV on edmunds

i don't think it will make too much of a difference since it's a used car. Also try edmunds.com, kbb tends to be a little high

Don't forget to apply the "waving cash in their face" discount. More commonly known as the Rawfish discount.

Its not going to just magically drop once the new models come out, it will just go down over the year. Besides, any amount it will drop will be within the negotiation amount anyhow. The price of a car comes down to 3 simple things. What they own it for(or owe on it), how much of a profit they want to make and what your willing to pay. Thats it.
