I see a lot of people lack any sort of ability to appreciate talent in a variety of musical genres. Problem is, Linkin Park's pretty much the antithesis of talent. "Garbage music" was a much better observation
Yeah, as opposed to all those bands that sound like total ass live and sound perfect in studio. Sorry, Linkin Park has some catchy tunes, nice hooks, and put on a decent show. I put them in the talent category.
I would love to hear you articulate why they are garbage.
I love System of a Down on CD but everything I have seen of them live (not in person though) has been crap. Sevendust sucked ass live. Bush was ok live. Limp Bisquick was really good on their Free Napster Tour, suck ass now. We have seen the Britney Spears Video. Cranberries were awesome live. Dave Matthews, Better live than on CD. Train sucked. 3rd Eye Blind was entertaining live, not a great band but good enough to be entertaining. Live was good live. Counting crows were good live but they went all "improv" on two of the songs I really wanted to hear like the CD version. Anyway.... rambling.

tool, its borderline to call them active I think... Why, just because they don't put out an album out every year? They were writing for the next album, and now they're currently on tour. That's sounds active to me
Yeah, I suggested they might be inactive, but that was based on an interview I saw from like 3 years ago where they said the put the band on hold to pursue other interests. I am glad to hear they are back writing. I can't wait to see where they go with their next album. It is sure to be amazing and in a new, if just slightly, direction as they always see to change a little between albums.

I think they are one of, if not the best rock band currently active.
and to the haters, feel free to suggest better. Interesting point. I like Linkin Park but I am going to have to go with Tool to answer your question. The last I heard was that they were not making anything new, were on a hiatus, but then someone just posted that they were touring so I don't know if they are "active". I might also say Godsmack although I have not seen them Live. tool, godsmack, potentially right, I dont know if Id call either better though... less mainstream, which I know stirs some people lemonades around here, but better? maybe, they are both pretty different so I could see preference for them over linkin park for sure. tool and godsmack are alot... darker? you dont often hear godsmack on the radio anyway. and tool, its borderline to call them active I think... metallica is more active then them... though they suck now. maybe pearl jam, but they also are a shell of their former glory.
your an idiot, Tool is on another international tour, without even releasing another album. . .
I dunno, i saw Red Hot Chilli Peppers about 10 years ago, they were with Foo Fighters, Foo, amazing, RHCP, fucking terrible, I wouldn't spend money to see them again.

I would love to hear you articulate why they are garbage. Ironically, you pegged one of the biggest reasons I hate LP. After hearing some of their live cuts, I reached the conclusion that they're talentless studio-engineered garbage. One cannot say they've experienced true pain until they've heard a live version of Crawling... Chester Bennington's "vocals" are the real sound of ultimate suffering, the guitarist looks like an idiot in those headphones, and the rapping Japanese guy is just Musical reasons aside, it's also hard to fathom that a bunch of rich kids from SoCal have a reason for all that pussyhurt "LYFE SUX" whining.
In sum, if you think horrible screeching/rapping + "teenage angst" lyrics + largely uninteresting nu-metal music = talent then more power to you, but I'm fine with leaving that shit in the toilet where it belongs.

He was spot on with Crawling. Sorry.
Who cares if the fag wears headphones.

Arab Flamenco? Now that is diverse. I'd just like to say, and this is not directed solely at you black eagle, Indi =/= better or even good. I hate people that say shit like "They are crap!" and when asked why "They are so mainstream, fake, sell out. I only listen to indi." Uh, WTF? Missing out on a lot of talented artists that way. Personally, yes, I listen to mostly mainstream but that comes from suffering 4 years of constant indi crap while in MN that made my ears bleed. Oh well. A lot of people hate on the music that gets really popular or get tired of it because it gets played out. Their loss I guess. Good is still good.
For every garbage mainstream band, there are 700 bad indie bands...
