I just got a set of Konig Hotswaps (i know, not everyones taste, but i think they look pretty good)

I bought some Eibach sportline springs as well. And i've been doing a bit of reading about needing a camber kit. I've done some searching around and couldnt come up with much. The rims are 18x8 wrapped in 215/40ZR-18 Yokohama Parada Spec-2's. I've already noticed that the camber in the rear is off.

I've seen 2 SPC kits, adjustment: -1.25/+1.25 and then -3.0/+3.0. Then there are eibach camber kits as well.

Which rear camber kit are people using? and how much adjustment is needed with my setup.

p.s. im on stock shocks/struts

An alignment is a must; zero out your toe as much as possible. If you do a lot of freeway driving, a camber kit will help minimize some mild wear on the inner tread.

Regardless, your stock shocks will lose their effectiveness after about 5-10K of normal driving. That will put extra wear on your tires that no alignment can correct. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply.

I know the stock shocks would last that long, ive got a couple months still to save up for some nice shocks that will go good with the sportlines.

is the toe adjustment something that can be done without a camber kit?
I definitely want to get a camber kit, but there is a $100 difference between the two SPC kits. how much is the camber adjustment that i'll need to make?

With Sportlines you're looking at a 1-2" adjustment to your camber. Toe, the #1 contributor to tire wear, can be adjusted without a camber kit.

I know you've already decided on springs for your car, but I'd like to add: You really may want to consider the HFP suspension. They are a fully matched set of springs and shocks, and are generally considered to out-perform nearly every other suspension setup available. Plus, they are dirt cheap. College hills has them for under $450.

Sure, you compromise on ride height (only 0.8-1" drop) however the advantages outweigh anything else, if you ask me.

+1 on HFP; hands down the best value for the money. Though I think the OP is looking more for appearance over function at this point.

Thanks again for the replies.

I am looking for a bit more than a 1" drop. I'll sacrifice a bit of the ride, but i dont want to sacrifice on tire wear, or damage to other components, so i ended up ordering the Eibach rear camber kit. and then once i feel like the shocks are not performing like they should i'll exchange them for a good set.

and to think this all started with just wanting to get new tires to go on my stock rims lol....damn modding bug!

I'm assuming i should also get a front camber kit, or is there an adjustment that can be made without buying a kit?

I would suggest getting a front kit also. Sportlines drop you 1.8-2" up front which is pretty aggressive. Many get a camber kit simply to control rubbing issues that can sometimes happen with plus sized rims.

wow 1.8-2" really? everywhere i've seen them online say 1.4" drop.

I've talked to my mechanic, and he says after the springs are installed, that they'll take about 2 weeks to settle(just like i've read online) and then to install the camber kit(s) then. So i've still got time to decide.

I still haven't heard of what camber kits you guys are using.

here are two that i've found on ebay.

http://tinyurl.com/d47uz7 - $147
http://tinyurl.com/d44vp2 - $249

And then theres the eibach camber kit which i can get for about $340

Are you sure you're not talking about Pro-Kits? They drop the car 1.2-1.4."

PRO-KIT (PERFORMANCE LOWERING SPRINGS) 1.0 in 1.2 in 4031.140
SPORTLINE KIT (EXTREME LOWERING SPRINGS) 1.4 in 1.4 in 4.3140

That would be correct then lol... previous applications on older Civics had a more aggressive drop.

Good luck.

not really feeling the rims.

Wouldnt really worry too much about camber kit. Ive went through s2 lowering springs on my Fa5 and drove 15k miles and my tires still have about 60% treadlife left, also should rotate your tires a lot too \:D
