Alright I know this topic has been posted before;however, in my particular self interest, i want to know what the pro's and con's of running these systems. I am deciding on which EMS to get, Hondata S300 or Crome pro. Currently i am running a piggy back on my Edelbrock turbo kit. I have a P28 ready to be chipped by me. Slowly gathering parts, but my next purchase is a wide band controller and RC550cc saturated, that way it works for both systems and i can still decide later. The more i read about Hondata the more worrysome i get regarding its reliability and stability. I am leaning towards the Hondata S300 system because a local tuner is using it, on the other hand the nearest Crome Pro tuner is like 200 miles away. My question is it worth it for me to drive 200 miles to get a street tune by Red zone performance with Crome Pro or get the S300 instead by the local tunner

Crome Pro is the better system.

PPS. no it isn't, it's $150 + the cost of the ecu & conversion harness if required.
but it's still a fuck of a lot cheaper than hondata, and you're funding development in something that will be upgraded and developed continually. whereas if you buy the hondata it's a crapshoot as to wether or not they are even going to bother fixing the bugs that plague their software/hardware. i know there are still quite a few bugs in the s200 system that should have been fixed long ago but weren't.

Crome is cheaper than Hondata and like cua0 stated you are funding an always advancing system. From what I read on pgmfi.org the crome is a good system.

Crome is a nice setup...however finding someone who is willing to tune can prove to be difficult.

i don't know, all the EMS' i've played with so-far have been fairly similar, it's not much of a learning curve to use a different system once you have an understanding of what the systems do. interface is the only learning curve, really..

The real question is hondata vs aem, and aem is the winnar. Most people considering hondata need the accesability of the system from a professional's standpoint.

If you are gonna shell out for s300 so you can get tuned cough up the cash for an actual standalone.
