look up the phone # to your local town/city/village and call the street dept. there. I know our street dept. has nearly thousands of signs leaning against the back of an old garage in our city complex. Sometimes they will give you the old signs, sometimes you have to buy them. I will not make the joke about removing a legally posted stop sign, that has had fatal consequences before.

when i was with the sheriffs dept. we handled a case where some kids removed a stop sign at a four-way. Less than a day later someone not from the area went through the intersection and was hit and killed by a milk truck going the other way. Its funny until somebody gets charged with negligent homicide. Im just saying, there are legal means of obtaining signs. I too had the occasional sign when i was under 14 or 15. We had handicapped signs and left turn or right turn only signs.
