Pure Tuning in Toledo is having a Dyno Day on Saturday. $40 for 3 pulls with AFR and boost so I thought it would be a great time to take the Si and finally get some numbers. I'm going to bring the laptop and do some datalogging as well. (You can’t do any tuning or major adjustments)

I've been on the stock Greddy boost level since I put the kit on. I bought a Hallman Pro RX and planned on doing my 3 pulls with stock boost, 6.5lbs and then 8lbs just for comparison's sake.

I went out and street tuned yesterday and the poor stock clutch started slipping over 7lbs so I backed it off. So it looks like it will have to be stock boost, 6lbs, and 6.5lbs? This week I'm going to see exactly where it starts slipping and do some final tuning before the dyno day.

I’ll try to get some pictures and video if I can get someone to snap some. I’ll be busy with the laptop while the car is on the dyno.

Results: Saturday went very well, there were no surprises/issues and the car made about what it should for the mods I have. 185whp and 134tq. Pure Tuning uses a Mustang dyno which typically reads 8-10% lower than a Dynojet. So Dynojet numbers would be around 200-204 (bout' where you guessed Adam), so no complaints. (other dyno graphs from pure for comparison: http://www.pure-tuning.com/pages/media/dynosheets.htm )

My Setup
Stock B16A2
Greddy TDO5H-18G kit @ 7psi
Greddy Type-S BOV
Treadstone FMIC w/ Greddy IC piping
PCV valve eliminated, crankcase venting routed to Greddy catch can
RC 440's
PLX M-300 Wideband
Resonated test pipe
Apexi WS catback
Chipped P28
Uberdata

I would definitely see an improvement in a downpipe and exhaust upgrade. First on the list is a clutch though. Things to think about down the road, though I'm keeping my AC ;).

Now on to the vids and pics.

That funny looking dude is NOT me.

My friend with the obnoxious Buschur exhaust. He pulled 259awhp

The owner's car

This came off their drag car from last year.

My stock clutch could not hold 6psi. I had to upgrade to a Clutch Masters stg 3

Interesting,

I must have a healthy clutch then, or I'm not making the power I'm suppose to. Granted I drive conservatively and the car has just under 25k miles on it so that's probably why.

I did some datalogging this week and starting at stock boost, I increased 1/2lb after each pass. I got to 7lbs and decided that was good. I know it slips at 8lbs and I don't want to push my luck. I have a little cleaning up to do on the maps and I should be ready for Saturday.

RicAr math here we go..

Numbers approx.

Stock b16a2 = 135whp
Greddy kit = 10whp per lb.
7lbs = 70whp
135+70 = 205whp

Should be around 205whp on the dyno..my guess anyway.

Good luck.

Here is what you need.

Upgrade 3.0 exhaust.
Clutch
Dyno Tune.

You will have a solid car w/solid numbers. Good show, I was wondering what the outcome was...nice job.

you know I would think that you would be getting more power out of that car then that...no disrespect or anything but my B16a2 put down 150.1whp and 105.8 wtq,, over the winter I'm boosting mine with the Treadstone Performance turbo kit and from reading reviews and talking to others I'm hopping to to hit between 240-250whp "I hope" but we'll see.

assuming your ebay manifold doesn't fall apart you'll have huge hp gains from the massive porting they do on their turbo kits!

Do you have experience with the Treadstone turbo kits? you say ebay manifolds I find that hard to believe, their manifolds are cast and a lifetime warranty I can't see them using junk for their manifolds seeing how they use Turbonetics turbos and wastegates.

Ok guys, play nice. We don't need a debate, however from what I've seen of the Treadstone turbo kits, they seem like they are trying to be a legitimate, albeit expensive, turbo kit.

http://www.treadstoneperformance.com/pro...+Honda+Civic+SI

Moving on,

Can I ask what mods you had on your B16 to dyno 150whp? Also, what dyno was this on?

Since my setup is self tuned there is more power to be had with timing adjustments and a smoothing of the a/f ratio, but my power level is typical of a greddy kit.

I'm looking into clutches and the recommended clutch on the FAQ is the clutchmasters stage 3. Any opinions on Exeddy?

The only mods I have done on my car to get 150whp are 2.5 inch Kteller exhaust, password jdm intake, 4-1 header and a p28 woth crome tuned, I have SK2 cam gears but are set to stock specks. Sorry guy's I wasn't trying to argue with anyone just wondering were he had come up with a Ebay manifold from the Treadstone turbo kit?????? I guess there are a few things that determine what HP you get I just thought you would have gotten more that you did is all, I love shooting the shit with the guys about turbos and what they are doing to their cars it's interesting, and yes the Clutch Master stage 3 is a nice clutch thats what I have in my 1999 SiR.

It's all good.

I'm just saying on a stock motor w/a small turbo like a greddy and a crappily designed manifold like the greddy with a limited exhaust and downpipe on 6psi isn't going to net you any crazy numbers. So it's no surprise he made around 200whp.

With a bigger turbo/better manifold & exhaust setup he could knock down 400whp w/ease. For some 200whp is perfectly fine especially when he tuned it himself.

the old treadstone kits were the same as ssautochrome/xs power. seems they have changed out a lot of their parts.

That is what’s important here. What is the desired end result, have you met that goal, and are you happy?

Even though I haven’t yet reached my goal of 225-250whp, I’m happy with the car right now. It’s very peppy compared to when it was NA, yet still very streetable, has a quiet exhaust, still has AC, and is reliable.

I will upgrade parts down the road and shoot for my goal, but I’m in no hurry.
