So how do they work? Monthly flat rate for the device and no usage fees for each trip? I looked on the 407 website and Im just wondering if there is any BS hidden fees or gimmicks.

Cheers

Monthly ($3.95) or annual ($24.50) transponder lease. $1 per trip plus mileage.

Without transponder: $1 + $4.20 (heh) per trip plus mileage + $3.95 montly account fee.

Just a FYI, I am (was) a regular 407 user and I haven't used the 407 since March. Since then I returned the transponder and just trekking it along the main highways.

A transponder is a must if you use the 407 a few times a year bc the BS video charge is outrageous.

is it true that the "new" blue plates cannot be seen by the camera at night... or is this just a myth?

They rent out transponders so you only pay mileage driven.
Then they added $1 per trip top of transponder rental.
Total BS.

Agreed 100%.

Doesn't matter. Still use it frequently, and love it. They could double the rates and I'd still use it.

have one for work and one for personal use

work gets used almost daily
personal almost once or twice a weekend

would rather not waste away more years on stress from commuting so 407 it is

Do you line up 10 cars deep when gas is 8 cents cheaper? If you are that guy, then 407 isn't for you.

If you are the guy that drives by said line up and thinks to himself "bunch of dumbasses", then 407 is for you.
