Hi gang,

I am looking for feedback about companies that manufacture / install garage lifts. I have a client that is looking at installing one inside a quonset. More than likely, we'd be looking at a 4-post so that it doesn't have to be anchored (he has underground heating). Anyone have experience with either of these companies? Or is there another option that would work out?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

It's not for me but Gary at Lift Super Store said most lifts require 4" thickness (6" if you're going with a single-post).

How much space do you have?

I recommend rotary propac 8,mondial (self levelling, jack tray, drips trays 110v & caster to move, techno lift, direct lift. Majority are 8000lbs capacity.

Let me know if you any questions

They have the concrete requirements on the spec sheets I believe.

The 4 post lifts should work on regular concrete pours.

Just went through a new build, and whatever the building code requirement is for garage floors meets all the requirements for the 2 and 4 post. Not sure if that spec had changed over the years though.

It definitely has. I've seen old garage floors that had to be re-poured (around the mounting points) to support two-post lifts. I think 5" is the minimum (that's what she said) for most two-posters.

I thought for 2 post you need at least 6" (+ rebar) and a lot of garage floors can be as thin as 4" fyi. I don't see a typical 4 post on 4" concrete floor being an issue as it's not, but a 2 post I would repour those sections.
