It's obviously financially beneficial for a cell provider to lock you into a 2 year plan, and you "get" the phone for $0... but after a 2 year contract, is it actually cheaper to buy a phone outright and bring it to a provider for cell service?

that would largely depends on your plan. If you have a plan like mine, 20gb, 65 a month, then yes it's better to buy a phone outright.

I don't think there's many decent $0 phone offers anymore. Seems like all the providers are trying to get us to finance a phone instead, so any promo plan becomes a $115 monthly bill.

Just check my Rogers portal:
$0 iPhone XR (64gb)
$29 Samsung S10e (64gb)

Might as well go shopping at BiWay after getting one of those.

In order to get the best plans/phones you have to be willing to put up with the bullshit & play the games.

Rogers here as well.

$60/23GB. They have a $50/20Gb but I missed that one.

agree. if you can be patient and slow grind them you'll get a good plan.
